Barbara (L) and Jenna Bush, the daughters of U.S. President George W Bush, walk together from the Darnall Army Community Hospital in Fort Hood, Texas, April 11, 2004 after President Bush (news - web sites) and members of his family visited with soldiers wounded in Iraq (news - web sites). Bush awarded 10 purple hearts to troops recovering in the hospital, after attending an Easter Sunday Church service at a chapel within the army base in central Texas.

Bah... Dont praise their work...just criticize their fashion.

Their fashion is pretty darn bad. I have seen some other shots on Yahoo of the two girls, and while I am happy they were visiting the troops and going to church, their attire is totally inappropriate.

Good-looking girls, however, very badly dressed.

fashion shmashion - I'd be happy for a visit.

Chelsea C was on the cover of People every other week and no amount of tailoring made that look good.

The exquisite pain from trying to walk in that particular shoe style is the wearer's own reward, LOL.

They appear to be nice young women to an old geezer.

I am reasonably sure that the wounded that they visited were not concerned with their fashion statement.

I saw half a dozen young women their age at church yesterday wearing jean jackets, spaghetti strap dresses and backless sandals. Doesn't necessarily make it right but they're in style.

Theater of the absurd. More modest dress was called for. It ain't about the Bush girls. It's about our wounded boys and gals and their being uplifted.

Well .. maybe the Bush babes uplifted some of the guys with thier Easter outfits! Heh!

The girls are grown... I doubt Mrs. Bush picks out their clothes.

(the jean jacket was probably thrown on at the last minute, since it was unexpectedly chilly in Texas yesterday)

Oh PLEEEEEEEEEZE. I see many young girls dress like them. It is so stupid that people in our own party cute them down, when DU or moveon will be doing enough.

I admire the girls. It can not be easy for Jenna going to UT and being a BUSH. I am sure her profs are as liberal as they come.

No kidding! I loved that scene fron the Music Man!. The girls are young and beautiful and it is very nice that they went to see the troops. I look at old pictures of myself in 70's garb and I wish I would have made better choices in hindsight.

The girls are young and pretty. I am a conservative Republican.

That does not change the fact that their outfits are inappropriate for daughters of the American President to be wearing when going to Easter services or visiting wounded troops.

The jean jacket looks trashy as does the spaghetti strapped dress. It is too revealing for church, IMHO.

I wore khaki pants, an oxford button down shirt, and a blue blazer to church yesterday, if that sets your mind at rest.

As it so happens, I am a very good-looking guy.

Hellooooo, when was the last time a teenager took fashion advise from their, eeewww, mother??? Just be thankful they didn't wear tight shirts that show belly buttons and jeans with waists so low they're all but showing Christmas.

Are you guys nuts? These ladied are in college...you are delusional! All their friends are probably in grubby t-shirts with filthy lettering, jeans with huge holes in them, multiple piercings, tattoos, black lipstick and nail polish...

You guys gotta understand that these college girls are "dressed up" in comparison...

And although I would prefer they dress nicer, in the end, they live at school, their mom and dad live in Washington, and have little control over their college age children. What are you gonna do, ground them?

"cute them down"?

I think they look very good and I am not cutting them down, but for heaven's sake, anyone who has any class at all cannot help but notice that they are both looking trashy in those clothes. It is the clothes that I am taking issue with, not the girls. Mom should tell her kids to dress correctly when the girls are attending family events. Sure the girls are not kids anymore, but as long as Mom and Dad are footing the bills for their education, the girls need to heed their parents advice.

I would think that Barbara has more trouble at Yale than Jenna does at Texas, since nearly everyone at Yale is a rabid liberal, while at least some students at Texas are conservative.
