I think Bush is an honest man with the best interests of this country at heart. History may view him as another Churchill. God help us if he loses the second term.

Perhaps you need to finally learn just exactly what FR is all about and how it works, pet

I know what FR is about(in fact I signed up before you did). I know that threads often turn from their original subject and go off on some brilliant tangents. That doesn't bother me, in fact I like seeing where threads go. But it wasn't me that started chastising someone for going off-topic.

What did disgust me was the very unFReeper like activity of telling someone who is very ill to shut up about it. The press conference hadn't started yet and different things were being discussed in the lead up to it. But only Havoc's comments were deemed out of bounds?

Where were the "compassionate" conservatives last night? Howlin says she is only compassionate to those she misses, how noble.

Buchanan is a spoiled child who is cut out of the GOP's mainstream. He is so far from being a visionary that he is in step with Richelieu.

At least 1200+ per NIGHT find it pretty easy to get across the southern border.

Shouldn't be a problem for Greg, then.

The french sounding David Gregory was on IMUS this morning and he made a comment about all the critical emails he got about his question last night. Thought you might want to know.

Thanks. It's good to know that he's feeling some heat.

President Bush has in turn been as articulate and brilliant a speaker as I have ever heard (9/20/01, SoTU, 01, 02, Speech at Whitehall, UN, West Point), and what some describe as 'stumbling.'

The American people know he's not always brilliant and articulate when he speaks off the cuff, but I'm in the camp that believes that most post 9/11 Americans get the 'big picture,' and aren't going to care about his natural inarticulateness any more than they would have cared that Lincoln wasn't attractive.

It just isn't as important as some of you are making it out to be, and will not have any effect on the election.

What's going to matter is that he cares about the American people and our safety and security, and that he's strong enough to DO something about it.

The answer to your fears is that each of us campaigns for him like it's a horserace, and then watch with celebration when he wins BIG in November.

Get off your high hobby horse. The hijacker wrote a post linking to his phony vanity whine, and thereafter made sure the thread was all about himself and his own personal agenda.

A President cannot be blamed personally for your job loss. That's silly and you know it. The mightiest economic machine in world history is doing what it's done in the past: Shedding jobs that can be done more efficiently and with less cost overseas. That is a win -win situation for all. Just as 90% of the economy was agriculturally based 100 uears ago and moved to an industrial model over the 30-40 years after, so will this change be productive and positive for the nation's economic future. As for your jobless frustration, start looking for another job while retraining for something better than the job you had. That is what millions do and what will lead to a better future. Don't just sit there flustered and moping and getting involved in blame games like the Dems...get going!

Your comment: -
If I had a soldier in the war, I would be grateful that he is the commander-in-chief. He is right to count on the American people. They could see right through the enemy media tonight.

Military troops around the world watched the President last night, and he knew that they were part of his audience. He was not just speaking as a campaigner, but as a Commander-in-Chief. His troops love him and know that he is asking great sacrifice for a great goal.

I wanted to contact each of you because we were all surprised at C.C. Connelly's praises of President Bush last night after his speech/press conference. I don't know how many of you hung around to watch her on Greta's show later, but C.C. was not praising the President's performance once she got on that show. She said he was hesitant, and didn't respond to several of the questions.

Personally, I believe she's intimidated as a panelist going up against Barnes, Hume and Kondracke. She spoke one way about the Presidet with them and another way with Greta. It just goes to show you how two-faced these reporters are.

yes- funny how CC asked why The Prez doesn't do more of these types of news conferences as he excelled at it. She's afraid of big Brit 2 feet away.
