I'm not going to try to decipher all that you have replied, but this is clear:
"We have enough problems in our home . . . "
That you do, and I wish you well. Zhelayu vam uspyekha.

By the way, if there were street combats in the city where you work - will you heroically go to office crawling among ruins and hiding from angry kidnappers? :-) Or will you "chicken"? Every day, more people are shot dead in LA, Detroit, NY, Atlanta, Dallas, Chicago than there are in Iraq.

It's possible, and would account for the rather uncharacteristic behavior. The kidnapping would then have been staged.
I'm not subscribing to the theory, but it's worth thinking about. I'll keep my mind open to consider any idea that will explain this action.

According to the article there will be 800 evacuated. All civilian engineers? I don't think so.

This is good news! Everyone that has a spirit of fear of these murdering Islamics should leave! Good riddance!

"Russia is NOT an ally of the U.S. in Iraq. There is NO Russian occupation troops in Iraq. So its a little silly to speak about "chicken Russians".Russia was an ally of Saddam and it's clearly a cowardly move to pull out of Iraq at the demands of the terrorists whether the Russians in Iraq were soldiers or civilians
Terrorist in Iraq = 1
Russians in Iraq = 0

The problem is that we knew that 1) Saddam had NO WMD
2) Osama HATED Saddam
No, the problem is Saddam was Russia's biggest purchaser of tanks, AA missles, RPG's, and small arms. And quite frankly, after desert storm one when the dominance of the M-1 Abrams was displayed for the whole world to see, I'm sure worldwide demand for Russian tanks slipped some.

Hi, Please take a moment and either call the President or send an email to let him know we, the American people back him. Also, if you could just tell one person to do the same and ask them to tell another, than God willing, we will flood the switchboard with calls and faxes like they have never seem. This is one way we can take it direct to the President and it can not be misled by the media or stupid polls.....
Please call or email and God bless:

"This is funny..russia trying to act like they are important"
What`s so funny about this?
Russia is important because it`s rich.
Rich of endless resources on their *own* soil.
The importance of the US is, after all,
just based on it`s military power, which
is in turn based on credits, which are based
on the role of the $ as a key currency.
The moment the rest of the world will stop
to finance these credits with their economical
power and base their trade on euro, Yen or
whatever... the importance of the US is gone.
So, the US should treat *rich* countries
with a little bit more respect, Comrade

WHAT IF WE EXPELLED THE RUSSIANS! Now that could explain why they are running out of there faster then the UN did
