But you concede the essential absurdity of Prohibition!
Excellent! We're making progress!

Most of what Walters says regarding marijuana can be de-bunked by simply visiting the DEA's own website. Please feel free to debunk it then.

But you concede the utter absurdity of legalization of cocaine.
Excellent! We're making progress.

"...He said the change had led to a doubling of hospital emergency cases involving marijuana...[sic]"
LMAO... So how exactly do doctors treat a marijuana overdose?
With a King Size bag of Doritos and a Super Size Vanilla Coke?

No, I agree that most liquours do taste 'bad'.
However, the REASON "Mixers" came into existance was because of the increased PROFIT, in the whole Profit:Risk ratio that prohibition creates.
Other examples today are: Crack, Ecxtasy, and Angel Dust (among others).
These drugs would very likely never have been created, if not for the War on Drugs. The drug sellers/distributiors need a more compact and addictive product to offset their loses from gov't seizures. Thus, if only 1 plane in 5 makes it through the borders, the profits justify the risks.
That was my point.

However, the REASON "Mixers" came into existance was because of the increased PROFITRight. If it tastes better, more people will buy it!

I was not referring to you. I was referring to the inane remark by the Drug Warriors about a doubling of emergency room visits attributed to marijuana.

You just can't buy advertising this good. Especially if your business is clandestine.
This federal fool has just increased the premium that people will pay for Canadian (or "Canadian") pot.
To: Hodar
That was my point. Your point is that now that prohibition is over, I don't have to mix coke with Bicardi?

Go ahead, tell us all about the horrors of marijuana overdose. I'm sure they're piling up the corpses even as we speak. We need a laugh. Go on, please.

Today's pot is on average seven times more potent "than the marijuana baby-boomer parents may remember from their days of use or experimentation", he told reporters. I get so tired of this lie.
I have friends who smoked then, and still do now. This ridiculous contention is just WOsD propaganda. The objective is to convince those who know for a fact that the "devil weed" propaganda of the '60s was BS would be wrong in thinking it BS now.
But it is - complete and utter bull corn.

No, my point is that the liquor business owe's it's existance today to US prohibition era.
If not for prohibition, Everclear and many grain alcohols would either have never been invented, or would never have enjoyed the prominence they enjoy today. At the turn of the century, whiskey used to be considered the foul beverage of a derelict and drunk. Now, it's considered a 'high' class beverage. Single Malt whiskey is considered to be a 'social statement'.
The Liquor industry was created for the sole purpose of maximizing the "bootlegger's" profits. Smuggle in a case of beer, and 24 people get a drink. Smuggle in a case of Whiskey, and a whole lot more people get a drink. By condensing the product, profits soared. Contrast this to smuggling in a truck full of 50 gallon barrels of beer. Which had the better risk:profit ratio?
Same thing with the war on drugs. Drugs exist today that did not exist ever before. The reason is that the drug cartels are developing ways to concentrate drugs, so less does more. Once these drugs are unleashed on society, they will be around forever. Thus, the war on drugs is not only ineffective; it is creating an even wider variety of addictive and damaging drugs. It is only going to get worse.

If not for prohibition, Everclear and many grain alcohols Which tasted awful and thus mixers were popularized to make them taste good.
