April 16, 2004 -- WASHINGTON - New questions surfaced yesterday about 9/11 commissioner Jamie Gorelick's potential conflicts of interest after it was revealed she was more deeply involved in anti-terror efforts than has previously been known. Records obtained by The Post show that Gorelick, while serving in a top job at the Justice Department, met every two weeks with George Tenet, then the No. 2 official at the CIA, and headed then-Attorney General Janet Reno's national-security team.

Here's what i posted on another thread:

Well guess what I just did?

Sent an email, just now, to Congressman Sensenbrenner who is raising the question of Gorelick's conflict of interest:

Congressman Sensenbrenner:

I applaud your efforts to call attention to Ms.Gorelick's conflict of interest in serving on the 9/11 Commission. It also might be important that she not just recuse herself, but be compelled to testify.

Should she come under direct questioning, please explore her participation as what appears to be an "overseer" in both the TWA 800 crash AND the OKC bombing.

From a World Net Daily editorial:

http://worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=38068

"Evidence strongly suggests it was Gorelick – not the ineffectual Freeh – who not only misdirected the FBI's investigation into Oklahoma City, but also the FBI investigation into TWA Flight 800. The parallels between the two cases are shocking. And in each case, the Clinton administration constrained the FBI for the same reason: to advance the re-election chances of its standard bearer. "

With rumors rampant in both incidents regarding Iraqi or foreign involvement - this appears too coincidental and protective of the Clinton administration as they prepared for reelection.

Thank you.

I, um, think the folks at Gorelick's law firm could profit from seeing the articles in this link.

Speaking of her Law Firm ... Did you know this?? .. I found this in my travels

"The New York Post has raised an interesting question: who is paying the legal fees of Craig Livingstone, the White House's former personnel security chief? Livingstone is using lawyers from a firm that normally charges between $350-600 an hour. The firm -- Miller Cassidy Larroca & Lewin -- is where Deputy Attorney General Jamie Gorelick used to work."

I'm beginning to get a feeling that Gorelick was the Clinton's person "inside" the Justice Department

Was Gorelick confirmed by congress like Reno was, or was she just appointed/hired after Reno got in?

She would have been confirmed by the Senate.

What we need is to find out when the Clintons first came in contact with her. We need to know what causes she supports. We need to find out who their mutaul friends are.

Oh, with this new revelation Gorelick is sure to step down now, what with all the publicity and criticism the national media will bring to bear on her.

Bingo. She belongs on the stand while under indictment for witholding evidence and obstructing justice. Her actions at justice, while destructive, were not criminal. Her actions on the commission rise to that criminal level.

"Tim's real role in the bombing is something of a mystery to me. I don't know of any evidence
other than a mysterious rear axle to indicate there was a Ryder truck in front of the Murrah
Building.

And this axle was found by none other than

ex-FBI agent and Oklahoma governor Frank Keating,

an opportunistic toady of George Bush I.

The Association of National Security Alumni is an organization that seeks to expose and curtail covert actions because they "are counter- productive and damaging to the national interest of the United States, inimical to the operation of an effective national intelligence system, corruptive of civil liberties, ... and they contradict the principles of democracy, national self-determination and international law to which the United States is publicly committed."

Hey you....howgozit?...

Re the 9/11 commission, do you, or anyone, know if they will issue "minority" reports..given how partisan it's become, I doubt they can agree on the font to be used for the report....

Good find! I vaguely remember somebody picking up the tab for Craig Livingstone, but couldn't have given any specifics. This is very interesting. Livingstone got away with his intrigues, and as far as I know, those FBI files were never dealt with according to law. We don't what copies of them are still out in Democrat computers, or even that they were returned to the FBI. But every file in unauthorized hands is a felony. Thank you, Jamie Gorelick.

Daschle was an Intelligence Officer in the Army.

He was? I thought he did the minimum 2 year hitch as an enlisted man. I could have him confused however.

I just voted in the FR Jamie Gorelick poll ("should she resign from the commission?").

I answered "No." I say keep her on the Commission so that we can continue to torment her, her party, and leftist liars in general. Make certain that this story continues to get legs. It hasn't so far (except in our own circles) and if she resigns it most likely won't ever get the public attention it deserves.

Furthermore, wouldn't it be grand to see the video of her standing up and moving from the high chair to the low chair so that she can testify? Wouldn't it be great to subpoena her to testify - even while she serves on the panel?

Thanks for listening.

Did you happen to check some of the links in some of the replies? Good stuff on Gorelick. There is one that has a poll if she should resign. Will ping you to that one as well.

The memo was part of a greater plan since Carter to minimize what they called "domestic spying". All those pesky warrants and supoenas that could come about by the sharing of info between agents and agencies. IMHO they were trying to keep too many from seeing what the Left was up to after Vietnam. Along with groups like cANSWER, others who benefited were the domestic islamofascists.

What amazed me was one of the panel maroons the other day defending Gorelick, saying she was such an expert and so qualified, input, blah blah blah. I told my husband- how on earth could they consider someone who didn't have the basic common sense to see how detrimental the "wall" would be to national security as having anything to contribute to the commission. Her "expert" opinion isn't worth spit- it's pretty obvious national security is and was the last thing on her list of priorities.
