No doubt that Clinton/Gore benefitted from "the Wall". It was put in place before the *fit hit the *shan. Nice timing! Luck or Planned?
With connections like Riady/Lippo, Marc Rich, etc., one can only wonder how many other things were NOT uncovered!
You can make a living off this? LOL.
Nah... I do this to relax! (pretty sick, huh?) ;-)
I went on 'overload' with Dick Clarke and his connections. Isn't Rand Beers still his business partner? Clarke was given his post at NSC (after being fired from State) by Scowcroft... as was Condi. There's an inner circle... but Clarke seems to have turned... not sure why.
I found a real interesting WSJ article that makes it sound like Clarke was setting up Bush et al for some time. What better way to demonstrate that the Whitehouse didn't consider binLaden and AlQaeda as priority? Here's a snippet:
Copyright Dow Jones & Company Inc Apr 3, 2001WASHINGTON -- The U.S. has a new strategy for vanquishing accused terrorist Osama bin Laden: Dont mention him.
U.S. counterterrorism officials believe they inflated Mr. bin Ladens power and prestige in recent years by portraying him as the ultimate terrorist mastermind and the top threat to Americas security. Now -- even as they step up efforts to shut down the terrorist training camps he finances -- they plan to play down the Saudi millionaires pre-eminence. They hope that will make it easier to win support within the Islamic world to force Afghanistan to shut down the camps supported by his organization, Al Qaeda.
Senior Bush administration officials already have been urged to avoid mentioning Mr. bin Laden whenever possible. Likewise, the State Department plans to play down the Saudi exile in its annual Patterns of Global Terrorism report, due out next month. Last years report included a picture of Mr. bin Laden and devoted an entire page to describing his life history and global ambitions -- a page that will disappear from this years version.
(snip)That view was, and still is, what officials believe. But National Security Council counterterrorism chief Richard Clark, who held the same job during the Clinton administration, has been urging Mr. Bushs national security team not to talk about Mr. bin Laden in such alarmist terms, preferably not at all.
Unusual middle name...
Middle?? LOL. I guess we're all used to "Gorelick" now.
I think "Shona" is Hebrew... for John.
??? I dunno... don't ask me!!!
