(CNSNews.com) - A 26-song CD coming out on Tuesday urges punk music fans to "Rock Against Bush."
For the "especially low price of $8.98," those fans can hear various bands "uniting against a common enemy."
Three of the songs on the CD are titled "Moron," "Warbrain," and "No W." Others include "The School of Assassins" and "Sink, Florida, Sink."
According to the punk record label Fat Wreck Chords, which is releasing the CD, 17 of the 26 songs are "unreleased and exclusive," from bands including Social Distortion, NOFX, Ataris, Anti-Flag, New Found Glory, Alkaline Trio, Descendents, Ministry, and others.
A press release from Fat Wreck Chords said the goal of the "Rock Against Bush" project is to get the "crucially important" anti-Bush message to as many people as possible.
With that in mind, Fat Wreck Chords decided it was not enough to simply release a collection of protest songs. Therefore, the Rock Against Bush CD comes with a "bonus DVD that is packed with music videos and informative political content" from anti-Bush documentaries.
Those documentaries include "Unprecedented," which claims, "George W. Bush stole the presidency of the United States... and got away with it." Another documentary called 'Uncovered' tells the story of how "truth became the first American casualty in Iraq."
Al Jourgensen of Ministry said his band contributed to the protest CD as a "proactive expression of outrage against the 'evil-doings' being inflicted upon American citizens and citizens of other sovereign nations by the Bush Administration."
In the same press release, Justin Sane from the band Anti-Flag commented, "Our brothers and sisters of this human race are dying for George Bush's friends in corporate America who profit from the invasions of Iraq, Afghanistan, and the U.S. orchestrated coup in Haiti. This may not bother you now, but when someone you love is shipped off to Iraq to fight for greed, or you find your feet in a pair of army boots in the desert, it will."
The Fat Wreck Chords website urges punk fans to "Order Rock Against Bush comp and get a schweeet anti-Bush bumper sticker!"
The website also invites fans to "Hear some s*** from Rock Against Bush Vol. I !"
Volume II is still in the planning stages.
You'd think he'd be more conservative, considering he and his mother came from Cuba in the early 60s (Jourgensen is his adoptive father's name.) But he's always been a virulent, angry, way-too-in-your-face liberal--he rails against the horrors of conformity and the collective--and yet he's the most dutiful, unquestioning worker bee in the hive. Me thinks he has serious daddy issues.
Big heroin user, too. Maybe it's not so ironic that so many of the left are such non-functioning scumbags. He made some good music, though.
You gotta give them some credit for truth in advertising. The call themselves punks, and they call their product what it is.

Daddy issues = looking for a father figure = socialism
Yeah, I got a clue seeing that video where they were shooting plates and stuff with William Burroughs ("Never trust a junkie"). On the upside, Ministry got a great cameo in Speilberg's "A.I." movie.
Sender said "It's the 21st-century version of Alice Cooper..."
I think this creature
owes this one
a lot of for gimmick infringement.
That's a good point. I've always noticed, and this is a completely unfounded theory, that many of the real knee-jerk socialists I've ever met have had really domineering fathers--hence they're always rebelling against this symbolic Big Daddy. There's a real resentment of authority, especially if it comes in the guise of a white male.
Again, completely unfounded--but it does make me wonder. It's the age old battle between the cools and the squares, kids. v. parents. Al J is just fighting for his right to par-tay... which is real sad, considering he's a fifty-plus year old man, but with all the emotional/psychological development of your average 10 month old.
It is ironic that he views conservativism (with its message of individualism, laisse faire economics, etc.) as so authoritarian and fascist, and yet he sees socialism as benevolent simply because he feels it's a system more sympathetic and supportive to his drug/fetish/whatever demons. I guess true freedom is too threataning to that poor bastid...<p. Land of Rape and Honey is a BRILLIANT disk, though. I guess you don't have to be a real brainiac in order to put out some smokin' industrial tracks.
I read an interesting book awhile back called 'Toxic Religion' and it basically made the point that people (more women than men)that have father issues often go from religion to religion looking for a 'father' or someone to take care of them. (Patriarchal religions were obviously the religions of choice) There was some scientific evidence as well as antecdotal information explaining why these people go to extremes to find some patriarchal solace. Interestingly, the different subjects in the book went from religions like Mormonism and extreme Christian religions to Scientology to converting to something like Islam. Women especially often married men who were domineering in conjunction with their search for a father.
The very notion of socialism is to have someone else take care of you so it would then, logically follow that someone searching for a 'father-figure' would gravitate toward such philosophies.
The bottom line is that is all has to do with fear. Fear of not being able to do something for yourself, to help yourself and/or to help others. Many of these 'searchers' were not taught by their mothers to do for themselves because they probably thought it was the 'man's' job therefore, the lesson was not taught to the child since there was not father around. A child growing up with this fear and idea about herself/himself will not be able to feel secure about any decisions they make in their lives. They want someone else to make the decisions for them. This insecurity keeps humans from being who they were meant to be....
(ok....I am falling off soap box now....;)
They are on the wrong path! The Anti-Nowhere League needs to get back together and show those guys the real thing! The ANL caused riots that helped Yugoslavia become "former", and screwed up a few other European cities as well.
Current punks are democrat silly putty whereas they should be anarchists.
Patriotic Metal Bands: Black Label Society,Iced Earth,Exodus,Metallica,Megadeth,Slayer (kinda)
What a miserable failure the punk ass liberal punk sites attempt at domination have turned out to be.
Punk Rock is Dangerous
By Michale Graves - March 15, 2004This leftist radical agenda seems to be resonating loudly from within pop culture and we are at war on many different levels. We face mass death brought to us from radical thinking people bent on a mission from God that will stop at nothing to destroy us. It's happening right now as you read this. It happened a couple of days ago in Spain. It will happen again here in this country probably to influence our election. It's happening right now. We could all die. You realize that, don't you? John Kerry will help the enemy kill all of us. He does not represent my idea of America.
What makes the idea of America so wonderful is the possibility of anything at all. That is how I imagine people from far away places felt when they watched us send a man into outer space and walk on the moon for the first time. We are the ideal. We are the utopia. We are closer to paradise then they could ever be. Closer then most realize. And they hate us for it.
I believe this is an age of extremism and in it teen angst is being used as a political tool. Columbine allowed everyone to see inside the actual depth of emptiness some kids feel, medicated or not, and what the outcome of that torture could be. Those two kids actions only scratched the surface of destruction children could inflict in this country if mislead into the world of the Democratic deceit machine led by John Kerry.

Punk voter is a neo shadow political organization backed by the Democratic party and its' special interest groups bent on removing at any cost what they have defined as a "Regime" who's leader to them is an "idiot son of an a**hole"?
See this country as you see yourself. Isn't that what America is? All of us? Isn't that what America represents? Isn't that how we should see ourselves? This country is a great idea whose possibilities are endless and subject to great success limited only to our collective imaginations, good will towards others and our willingness to work hard and sacrifice.
That is how I see The United States of America in which I would fight and if necessary give my life for with honor if ever given the opportunity to serve in uniform. Some won't truly know our freedom until it's gone. Think before you vote.
