That's great! I know you feel good after all your work! It's easy to send money but you people who do all the hard work deserve a lot of praise!

Operation FR Canteen Support Our Troops Has Begun
Daily Updates (When MoJo has a chance!) We began receiving a few packages on Friday and Saturday. We also received a generous donation in the mail. Thank you!!
This morning I was sweating it. I was very worried because it's one thing to let people know, but it's an entirely different experience waiting. Patience has never been my strong suit. God knows this and still keeps forgiving me.
This morning after running the children to school I came home to hear the news of our Troops battling on in Iraq. It just brought the urgent request back to reality--yet again.
At about 11AM this morning, the Operation officially began. The doorbell rang. I held my breath. I was thinking it was the neighbor coming over to chit chat. If you know me, I don't want to chit chat while I'm worried.
Our mailman stated that we had too many packages and he couldn't possibly fit them in his Postal truck. So? We would have to go get them. So? Off we went to the Post Office. When we got there, it didn't register that this was lunch time for our military. So? We were waiting in line with more brave heroes. Inside I was still nervous, but I was just thrilled because they have no idea what was transpiring. Perhaps someone they knows will have to use the field hospitals. Well, help would be on the way.
Anyways, we finally get up there and the man just looks at us. He said they had just shaken their heads this morning with all the packages. So? He stated we could drive in the back and pick up the packages. There were 12 packages to be picked up. He knew that more were on the way, but wanted to make an arrangement with us. The USPS will call us every morning and let us know how many packages we have and when to pick them up.
We finally got all the packages. They were of all sizes and all of them were pretty full. So? We were just grinning from ear to ear.
The Sailor was due to head out for PT. So? We had to rush in and look at the boxes. We have decided to not open any of the boxes from our house. We just got the addresses and names of everyone that has so graciously sent a donation.
The Sailor spotted Girl Scout cookies. He just knows that Thin Mints are being shipped over. So? His little heart was broken. (Everyone play your violins. Hehehe!) Anyways, that box was not opened.
So? The Sailor has delivered the boxes to his shop. I'm sure there were Sailors around anxious to help.
Anyways, I just received this back in email from Senior Chief Walsh. She is going to try and update everyday of what we have. A lot of stuff is from her stuff as well. She has taken donation from fellow Sailors and added the stuff that was sent from Free Republic as well. (Although, I will have to check to verify that!) She's been busy shopping plus doing her own Navy duties. So? Here it is.
Thanks for this update! I have been feeling guilty because I've barely begun working on my contribution, much less putting it in the mail, but I'm glad to hear others were much more efficient. And I will get mine in the mail! Promise!

I will deliver it to the men and women who unfortunately find themselves in our local hospital. I and all of my brothers and sisters in arms truly appreciate your prayers and support.

We sincerely thank you. I am sure we all feel the same way when I say we do it for people just like you. I will pass on your prayers and support to the young men and women every chance I get.

We are a joint command. I have soldiers, sailors, airmen, and Marines. Yes we have one Coast Guard member also. I serve all of them equally. It is a privelege for me to be in my position to watch after your sons and daughters and I do it with the same care, concern, and love I have for my own son.
I salute you for taking the time to let me how much we are appreciated and I will pass it on to all those I come in contact with in my own command and when I visit other places and especially the hospital.

We sincerely appreciate your prayers and gratitude. I do it proudly and will do it as longs as the good Lord gives me the good health. I love it and would only rather be with my family if I was not here serving my country.
Your thanks and prayers will be mentioned to all!

We thank you. Without your support it would not be possible or worth serving. Knowing that you are there for us, we do it proudly.

Hello XtreMarine,
It is you we are thanking. It is your brothers and sisters in Arms that we are thanking. No need to thank us. Thank yourself and everyone around you.
Some of us just sit in here and argue over partridges and pear trees. Hehe!
Have a wonderful day!
