"Kean, a Republican, has rejected calls for Gorelick to step aside. He said she is one of the hardest working panel members and noted she recused herself from parts of the probe involving her tenure."
Well, you *have* to work hard to sling around as much whitewash as she needs to rehabilitate her reputation. . .

the "Washington Times writes today,
"And Rep. Jack Kingston, Georgia Republican, said the commission's members haven't impressed anyone.
"The commission is a reunion of political has-beens who haven't had face time since 'Seinfeld' was a weekly show," he said. "In their scramble to make the evening news, they've turned this grave matter into a get-even-for-Monica investigation a switch the American people see right through."

Excellent, bitt!
Check it, nutmeg.

She should testify, and her testimony should be in public, on television. And Condoleezza Rice should be allowed to do the questioning of Ms. Gorelick. Quid pro quo. Sounds fair to me! And don't forget under oath.

How come this report doesn't say that all 100 senators and all 335 House members called for Gorelick to testify as well as step down from the panel? In fact, that they called for a totally NON-partisan investigation.
The 9/11 and anthrax attacks were an attempt very nearly successful to entirely decapitate our government. Were it not for the fact that things didn't go 100% perfectly for the hijackers and anthrax attackers, we might well still be on our knees politically and economically today.
Think about it: Congress was in session that day. Most of the people serving there today were there then. The First Lady happened to be visiting Capitol Hill. Were it not for the genuine heros on Flight 93, that plane would have hit either the White House or, more likely, the Capitol Building (since it's easier to spot from the air). What the plane didn't get, the anthrax letters could have if that attack had been thought out a little better. In addition, it was just luck that the plane which hit the Pentagon struck a newly renovated, thus relatively unoccupied area, instead of the side of the building that houses the offices of the Defense Secretary and top brass (who were in the building that day).
We escaped the truly nightmare scenario of most of Congress, the First Lady, and most of the top Defense personnel being wiped out in one day, along with our airlines and stock markets. The concurrent anthrax attack shut down our postal service and could easily have killed hundreds, if not thousands more had those attacks been planned better.
Against this backdrop, if we have to have a 9/11 commission at all, it should be rigorously non-partisan, ethical, above reproach, and judicious. Instead, the clowns on that commision, Democrat and Republican alike, have severely let the country down. I, for one, will never trust anything they report.

I would really like to know who the other 8 senators are.I would like to know, too. I heard Brit reference this on his show. Very good.
BV was saying on Sunday that going after Gorelick was going to "backfire" on the GOP. Doesn't look like these guys are feeling the heat, but the blast is hitting the commission.

I've been googling, but this article is the only one that comes up. I really would like more names.

He [Kean] said she is one of the hardest working panel members...Of course she's one of the hardest working members of the commission--it's a tough job burying all those Clinton admin skeletons.

I would really like to know who the other 8 senators are (the 3 public ones are Kit Bond, Trent Lott, and Saxby Chambliss. We can rule out Arlen Specter, Orrin Hatch, Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins. I also wouldn't count Bill Frist among those 8.

``It is our firm belief that any committee report or recommendations will be incomplete without public testimony by Ms. Gorelick about her activities while serving as Deputy Attorney General,' Amen! "The Commission" should insist on this...or accept the place it has earned in the dustbin of history.

How come this report doesn't say that all 100 senators and all 335 House members called for Gorelick to testify as well as step down from the panel? First, it would be 435 House members. Second, there's 49 DemonRAT Senators and 206 DemonRAT Congresscritters whose only loyalty is to party. Gorelick serves their interest perfectly.

First, it would be 435 House members.True - it was a typo I didn't catch. As for the Dems, also true. Mine was a rhetorical question, not requiring a literal answer. But it's OK, because your answer is excellent emphasis.
