April 23, 2004 -- A second top editor resigned from USA Today yesterday as fallout from the scandal involving former star reporter Jack Kelley continued.
Hal Ritter, managing editor of news, submitted his resignation to Publisher Craig Moon. He had been in his current position since 1995 and had worked at the paper since it was founded in 1982.
