Michael Jackson is replacing high-profile attorneys Mark Geragos and Benjamin Brafman in his child molestation case, the lawyers told The Associated Press on Sunday.
The pop superstar's new lawyer will be Thomas Mesereau Jr., another well-known criminal defense attorney who represented actor Robert Blake in his murder case until they recently parted company, citing irreconcilable differences.

"Michael Jackson has always been very impressed with the pro bono work and contributions Tom has made in the African-American community," Cole said.

Sinking ships and stinking clients and attorneys. The nation of islam will end up with what little money Jackson has after he gets out of prison.

Well, well, well. I'm like totally shocked. On another thread I just remarked about JMJ's bottom feeding catfish of a lawyer, and then you post this. Too funny!

Rita Cosby reported about 15 mins ago that a spokesperson for the Nation of Islam says that Jackson is to issue a statement shortly.

JMJ=MJ. What a yucky typo.

Surprise! MJ figured out that Geragos was not going to give him undivided attention...which is what he'll need if he has a snowball's chance **** of getting out of this one.

Dana Cole, an attorney who has worked closely with Mesereau on cases including Blake's, said Mesereau was approached by Jackson soon after he was charged with child molestation. He said Mesereau was unwilling to take the case at the time because he was tied up with the Blake case.

Attorneys Mark Geragos and Benjamin Brafman said they've withdrawn from the case because of "irreconcilable differences."
Brafman said the decision "became clear" after "developments and discussions with various persons in the Jackson camp."

Per Geraldo; Brother Randy was one of the main reasons for the tension. He wanted this to be used for publicity and didn't take it seriously(what an idiot).

From my understanding Geragos and Brafman were informed they were fired by an AP reporter.

I am not sure what this means, I wish it were a smack in the face for Geragos. I consider Michael Jackson a reputable client compared to the Clinton trash of Susan McDougall and brother Roger that got Geragos his intial celebrity.

MJ is up the creek. I knew it the minute Randy and his buddies showed up. MJ acts like a flaming fruitcake, but now is the time for decorum, not a circus. I'll bet Geragos wept when he saw that outfit MJ showed up in for his initial court appearance.
Shortly before you posted this, someone posted an article by Earl Ofari Hutchinson regarding MJ and the race card. For such a noted African American to come out and write a scathing piece on a fellow Black is very telling.

This story is giving Rita Cosby of Fox News an orgasm. I'm sick of Michael Jackson and his problems, not to mention those of Kobe Bryant and Scott Peterson.
Their stories take up way too much bandwidth but I guess that's cable news for you!

Cochran recently had surgery and rumor has it he has/had brain cancer but it hasn't been confirmed. He was Jackson's pick from the onset but since he retired from handling criminal cases, it was at his recommendation that Brofman was brought on board.
Ridiculous to hear Brofman/Geragos say they left on their own accord knowing all reports from the camp indicated they were fired.

What will be most interesting is if he heads back up to DC to meet with Landmark Legal Foundation.
