Kerry melt-down following Gibson GMA interview
ABC Evening News
Posted on 04/26/2004 4:03:47 PM PDT by A Citizen Reporter
Peter Jennings just ran a piece on Kerry's Vietnam history. Included in the piece was a bit of video after this morning's interview with Charlie Gibson. Kerry (thinking he was off-camera) ripped out his earpiece, and said "I feel like they're doing the work of the Republican National Committee."

After getting nothing but softballs from Old Media, J F'n Kerry finally sees a high hard one - and promptly blames it on the RNC.

Yeah I tuned in only for this story after the GMA dust up hit the net. First time I've watched in years, but well worth it. ABC is only mad b/c he lied to Jennings in 85. OK to lie to Americans, but ABC only takes you to task when you lie to "The Franchise" (with apologies to Shane Douglas)

Peter Jennings and ABC??? Really??? The long knives are out. The media wolfpack smells blood.
To: cajungirl
Started watching, but when it seemed to me like Jennings enjoyed saying that the first Coast Guard member was killed in combat since the Vietnam war...I couldn't stomach it and quit watching! What did Jennings say about the Kerry comment?
To: A Citizen Reporter
"I feel like they're doing the work of the Republican National Committee." No. They are doing the work of she whose name must not be spoken.
Actually, John, this is how it feels to be a Republican dealing with the press. Get used to it as long as Hillary (oops) doesn't want you to win.
To: OldFriend
This man has just proven indisputably he doesn't have the demeanor to be president.

I would have figured he'd have learned that after his remarks about "these guys are all crooks...worst I've seen..." (or whatever he DID say about Bush, etc. a couple of months ago)

I love watching a Clinton take down, it leaves the victim

W. took his pounding January through March. Now Kerry gets his. May last until the convention. Then he'll get a bump up, take a lead, W. will retake the lead after the RNC convention, and never look back.

"no way on earth to spin this"
From last September Kerry has posed himself as a victim of Repub. onslaughts. Even when there was none, just to generate news for himself.
Plus it helps distract from the truth that he has no content.

The RNC could come out with a statement that says, "John Kerry is taller than the average US Senator," and he'd accuse them of being an "attack squad." This guy has the thinnest skin of anyone I've seen in politics.

KERRY TO DEMS: STOP 'AWOL' JABS AT DUBYA
New York Post ^ | 2/16/04 | DEBORAH ORIN
February 16, 2004 -- Democratic front-runner John Kerry yesterday urged Democrats to stop charging that President Bush went "AWOL" during his Texas National Guard service - a claim being pushed by the party's national chairman, Terry McAuliffe. "I don't plan to do that, and I've asked them not to," said Kerry, a decorated Vietnam vet, during what could be the final presidential primary debate heading into tomorrow's Wisconsin vote.
Still, Kerry claimed Bush failed to apply Vietnam lessons to Iraq, and he referred derisively to "Richard Nixon and his war in Vietnam" - though it actually began under Democratic President Lyndon Johnson or, some say, President John F. Kennedy.
Democrats claim there's no proof Bush did temporary duty in Alabama, but two fellow Guardsmen now say he did, and a commander who'd suggested Bush was a no-show is "getting Alzheimer's."
It was low-key debate where Howard Dean ignored chances to zing Kerry. Rival John Edwards said he'll stay in the race and chided Kerry for talking as if he's already the nominee, saying, "Not so fast, John Kerry."
Kerry rejected the idea that his vote for the Iraq war means he bears some responsibility for it, saying: "The president had the authority to do what he was going to do without the vote of the U.S. Congress."
But Edwards, who also voted "yes" on the war, said "of course" he feels responsibility.
