You rock! When I was in Belgium two summers ago and it became obvious to my companions, people and neighbors I have known for over 30 years, that I was a conservative Republican and a Bush supporter, they were stunned silent and then attacked me. When I not only refused to back down but even more strongly backed up my beliefs, I think I really gave them food for thought. They stopped being so aggresive and angry and for the first time seemed really curious about why I felt that way.

What you did, and every American who proudly defends our President when attacked overseas, does more long lasting good than any news report or article.

Great work!!!!!!!!

Minor correction. Greenspan was appointed by Reagan.

Well, Diplomat already stated my quibble. But I can still atone for failing to congratulate you on your success. You did very well and it sounds like you fully exposed the mush that most Democrats hold as their "belief system."

Great to hear that they were receptive. In these times I think truth trumps the pathetic power plays of the left, at least in most places. (Spain excluded).November doesn't seem as ominous as it did, even with the bad news of our casualties on the news every night.

What a terrible thing to have happen to you and your's. I seriously don't know if I could handle that without doing something stupid. I hope time is healing your wounds. It's the only thing that does sometimes.

Tutti bene! Well done!

When I was in Switzerland, I too, was glad to defend our President. It's incredible the naivete that exists in Euromanica Depression land.

I had the privilege of watching my Eurofraud friends understand and even accept the President, and this was right before 9/11. I returned one week before 9/11 and my friends were thoroughly convinced after 9/11 and to this day.

And as far as your DemocRAT Jewish friend... the last time a Jew walked safely and peacefully in Beirut and Cairo was in the 1920's and 1930's. After Israel was created, most Jews in both cities were forced out or killed.

He's in the same lala zone as John Kerry... they deserve each other.

Great job and congratulations!

Hello -
Great work!
I used to live in Rome during Bush 1 and when Clinton won the first time...(that was awful!)
Anyway - give me a holler sometime!
I lived on Via Terrenzio - between Crescenzio and Cola Di Rienzo near the Vatican.
Ci Sentiamo!

Congratulations; what an accomplishment; and now a 'grape-vine'of info being shared! Wonderful. . .

I was in Italy a few months ago; many Italians were so supportive of our President and knew the importance of our going to war against Iraq. . . .

. . .and I remember a 'few' years ago, after Clinton has just been elected; I was standing in line in a Rome bank; thinking how everyone there, no doubt, was happy that Clinton was elected President; and I was miserable and embarassed just thinking of him. Suddenly the man behind me; said in a loud voice; 'HOW could you?! How? How could America elect such a man, to be their President!

Like here; there are of course, many 'others'. That said, Vive Italia! and many thanks, Ippolita, for your efforts in sharing Republican values and history.

Here again...
I married a great Italian who has become a very proud American citizen...he can't stand the 'system' and thinking that generally permeates the press, work ethics, unions, etc...he quit a great position as a violinist with an Italian State Symphony Orchestra to come to America.
He is a major Bush supporter and really understands the left wing mentality.
We visit his family - and I really see how the press is sooo far left and many people are so brainwashed...
Anyway - they have their own unique problems in Europe with the 'old' socialist thinking.
Americans have such a spirit of joy and living dreams and human potential. What I see in Europe generally is a 'downer' view - get that government post and don't dream great things for yourself because it can't happen.
The really gutsy and adventurous souls leave - or they have the upbring with some money where they were educated outside of their environment.
Anyway - great to hear your story!!!
I sang at the American Embassy - Judge Borsalino, who was fighting the mafia, was there - the next day he and others were blown up on a highway in Sicily. I sang 'America the Beautiful'.

The other day I passed by the offices of the Demokratichna Partiya Ukrainy (Ukrainian Democratic Party). I managed to stiffle the urge to start busting glass... but just barely.

I know, I know - no connection. But a nasty-sounding name all the same ;-)

Only temporarily, six months in 1987, and then he was actually put there officially in 1990 under the Clinton admin. That's why I quoted him: they couldn't say HE was wrong!

Alan Greenspan
Chairman

http://www.federalreserve.gov/bios/greenspan.htm

Alan Greenspan took office June 20, 2000, as Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System for a fourth four-year term ending June 20, 2004. Dr. Greenspan also serves as Chairman of the Federal Open Market Committee, the System's principal monetary policymaking body. He originally took office as Chairman and to fill an unexpired term as a member of the Board on August 11, 1987. Dr. Greenspan was reappointed to the Board to a full 14-year term, which began February 1, 1992. He has been designated Chairman by Presidents Reagan, Bush, and Clinton.
