I'm new here - haven't had time to read the other threads on this subject, so please forgive if I blunder! Has anyone considered that the reason POTUS & Cheney insisted on being behind closed doors w/ no transcripts is that they were going to tell the committee EXACTLY how bad things were in 2000 when they took over, and they didn't want the public to know. Maybe when those Dims heard what they had to say, they couldn't take it, and left....

I am a Republican and to me this is a non-story.
They will read notes of the interview. All the info will be available to them. It's not like they blew it off entirely.
This has no legs. We must not let our politics keep us from being fair.

No, they attended the interview. They just left early.
Trying to get mileage out of this makes our side look petty. That's what democRATS do. We shouldn't.

They had prior commitments. It's not shameful. It's how things work. They will see notes of whatever they said. They were there for most of the interview.

It's not similar to the Gonzales thing at all. Get with it. They attended the hearing, they had opportunity to ask questions. They left early because of prior commitments.
Harping on something as petty as this makes us look bad.
Adopting a posture that everything a democrat does is suspect, suspicious, and wrong isn't productive. It impairs clarity of thinking and leads us astray.
Fair is fair - they attended the interview and left early because of prior commitments. That, to most people, is rightfully no big deal.

I honestly believe that our local CBS affiliate (WCCO...aka W-DFL) tried to make it sound like Bush and Cheney were less than forthcoming in their testimony.
Of course, no mention was made that Kerrey and Hamilton didn't even bother to stay for ALL of the testimony.
Gee, I wonder why...? (much sarcasm)
To: Schnucki
First Kerrey's Two Minutes of Hate towards Condoleezza Rice, and now this? That's a Rat that needs a serious spanking.
No wonder their symbol's an ass.

That's what democRATS do. We shouldn't. And that MO has been helping us how?

Crying foul for non-issues can never be a good strategy.

I don't agree. Democrat or Republican, makes no difference, you rearrange your schedule to accomodate the President. You do not walk out on the President of the United States with a prior engagement. It's disrespectful.
