...also said he's happy with the direction of his new radio show, "The O'Franken Factor," despite unenthusiastic early reviews.
I'm sorry, I don't really think we want anyone in our U.S. Senate who is as satisfied with FAILURE as Big Al...

"Barney Frank is behind him all the way!"

Franken says he more likely than not to lose in '08.
BTW, since when does someone announce 4 years in advance, huh? I mean, if you've never run before?
Probably just a stunt to draw some miniscule interest to his failing radio idiocy.

I tuned in to the "America Left" channel on satellite radio last week and happened across the OFranken Factor. The format did not strike me as one that will work too well. Two or three people talking to each other, and it seemed like they felt that everything they said
had to be funny, but it wasnt (to me anyway).
It sounded like local talk radio talent, not what you expect from a nationwide program. I guess these guys may find an audience out there somewhere, but after listening I know why they cant draw a big enough audience to make the program commercially viable. Its not well done.
If youve ever been around someone who thinks everything they say is hilarious, but its not then you know what I mean.

I really can't see people being that stupid, but you never know. That's what I said when Hillary announced that she was running for Senator in NY.
To: kattracks
If he runs, then self-destructs, Walter Mondale can step in for him! Walter can make it 'three strikes and your out'.

In a
related thread, Zell Miller wants to repeal the direct election of Senators. This is as good a pro-repeal talking point as you are going to get.

Maybe the Wellstone Funeral can become an annual event for the DFL.

Coleman will eat him for lunch. Let him run. He'll be annihilated.

If he runs, then self-destructs, Walter Mondale can step in for him! He would, but his 3 children will be in their mid- 40's to early 50's by then and he doesn't want to miss out on that important stage in their development.
They grow up so fast.

That's what I said when Hillary announced that she was running for Senator in NY.There is a difference between Hillary and Franklen:
Franklen is a loser comic from SNL and (supposedly) a radio host, Hillary is a cold calculating heartless demagogue who knows no means to her ends.
At least Hillary had a political resume' for the voters of New York to justify their stupidity in electing her.

It's not just that Franken doesn't have a chance of winning against Coleman.
It's that he'd depress turn-out for all other DFL candidates.
Franken doesn't have coat-tails, he has ankle-chains.
Minnesota has been moving right, over recent decades, but there's a lot of leftist, still.
I fully expect Bush to carry the state, in 2004. And for Kennedy to beat Dayton in 2006. But I was pretty sure that Hillary would carry the state in 2008.
But if Franken is on the ticket, it'll cost her at least three percentage points.

Franken is really from Minnesota.
He was born in NYC, but the family moved to Minnesota when he was young. He lived in St. Louis Park from the age of six, graduating from SLP High.
