But the Church, she says, is not able — or worse, not willing — to defend Christianity. Fallaci accuses the Church of helping the expansion of the "Islamic empire," lobbying for more Muslims to come to Europe. She points out that Christianity offers its churches as shelters to Muslim immigrants, who immediately turn them into mosques, as it has happened repeatedly in France and Italy. It continuously apologizes for the Crusades, but never expects an apology for what Muslims are doing now to Christians in Sudan or Indonesia.

Fallaci has been known throughout her long career for her strong anti-clericalism (she is a long-time leftist, daughter of an Italian partisan who fought the Fascists), but describes herself as a "Christian atheist." While stating that she does not believe in God, she claims that the West cannot ignore its Christian origin and identity. Even if we deny God's existence, Fallaci says, Christianity has shaped the Western world. It defines "who we are, where we are coming from, and where we are going."

Reading the latest nonsense from the Vatican on "welcoming muslim immigration" I was looking for a helping of Fallaci. Found this off a Google, and FrSearched.

Most Westerners do not want to admit the following, but it is the main reason why the Islamicists believe they will take over in due time. Had the Catholic Church stood up forcefully to the cancerous notion of 'choice to abort', the birthrates would not be declining so precipitously and the preciousness of the alive unborn would blunt the womb driven assault the 'woman suppressing Islamicists' now depend upon.

In stepping to the side when 'PC' was spewed at them, the Church gave too much room to the secular idiocies that now drive the indefensible (abortion slaughter upon demand of the woman carrying the alive child) and make the obscene (cannibalizing embryonic human beings and cloning for body parts) palatable.

The Catholic Church, rather than leading in godliness, has bowed to the side allowed the pernicious secular humanism issues of abortion, homosexuality (as 'normal'), anti-god sovereignty, and socialism for the masses to become the driving notions of Western Civilization. Question is, has the Church become so corroded with homosexual apologist and abortion silence that they cannot be influential in turning things around? Will the cinos of the democrat party be allowed to once again shut the Church up and out from the political atmosphere? Sadly, I conclude (and apparently MS Fallaci has, also) that the Church is no longer a force, merely a withering voice. The zeal of Islamofacism will swamp the fractious influences of secularization now driving the West.
