But the situation forced kerry to say something, anything. His comments were tellingly belated and formulaic.

Cheny has strafed Kerry publically. Thus the "other priorities" talking point hammed to death by Terry McAuliffe.

I haven't seen any comments by Cheney, who had "other priorities" than military service during the 60's. Is he keeping quiet because of the whole moral authority thing, or have I just missed out?

What you have missed are the facts. Cheney was entitled to and took exemptions that the vast majority of men in this country took at that time -- and they were LEGAL, put into law by the United States Congress.

Given Bush's extensive time spent in uniform -- he was a flyboy as recently as about a year ago -- I'm sure the entire world has been soothed by his words.

He was in uniform longer than John Kerry was.

You may cast aspersions against Bush if you want to, but I'd rather have him that a man who has admitted that he murdered innocent people and committed other atrocities during a war.

To argue that Bush's service was not lethally dangerous is a favorite canard of the left.

The F-102 fighter jet is basically flames attached to a large fuel tank.  Many a courageous Guard pilot died in training or in the course of everyday flying.  I actually know one.

OTOH, the proximate cause of this entire mess, the cowardly rapist, was a genuine risk-averse draft-dodger.

owever questionable the reason for the clintons' easy disregard for the genocide that threatened Rwanda or the terrorism that threatens America, its correlate is clear; a clinton calculus rooted in cowardice and self-aggrandizement.

And both of these components are captured vividly in the movie clip above.

Notice in particular how each president reacts to a boy being crushed by the crowd: clinton reflexively moves to protect himself as he assails the overzealous swarm; the Ghanaian president, without hesitation and with increased risk to himself, lifts the little boy to safety.

You are truly amazing. I hope you got a chance to see Sean Hannity make a fool of Senator Corzine this evening. I laughed so hard when Corzine asked for Rumsfeld to resign - then Sean hit him with exactly what you're talking about.

Sean may have even seen your web site - because he stated most of what you say here. He asked Corzine how could he possibly ask Rumsfeld to resign when the man he supports (Kerry) did so much worse - then he rattled off the litany of crimes Kerry admitted to.

He made an absolute fool out of him. I think it was Sean's greatest moment.

ohn Kerry, self-professed war criminal, needed the Iraqi prisoner "abuse" scandal about as much as bill clinton, documented rapist, needed the Saddam rape rooms or the marauding Milosevic rapist-guerrillas.

For this reason, Kerry did not respond for a full week to this latest leftist-fulminated Bush-bashing brouhaha, and when Kerry did finally respond, the focus of his condemnation was process, not content, his pulled punches notwithstanding.

Makes sense. War criminals, by definition, lack the requisite moral authority to address such war-related "abuses."

By contrast, the response from Kerry's leftist colleagues has been so disproportionate -- and so predictable -- that it approaches farce of farce, even if we discount demonstrated Democrat willingness to trade American blood and national security for reacquired power.

The Democrats, apparently not adherents of Aesop, have "cried Bush" far too many times to be to be anything but preposterous. Are the reflexively self-serving, power-hungry Dems simply clueless actors? Or are they part of a larger orchestrated effort to muddy up Kerry's Vietnam-atrocities swamp?
