As a woman, I thank you. What I find unforgiveable is the outcry by the islamic world over the alleged torture of Iraqi prisoners because they're men, and no outcry over the inhuman treatment of women perpetrated by islamics.

My sentiments exactly, as the story broke and to this day. Even in fear of being ridiculed for saying this, what the Iraqi prisoners went through was so minimal compared to the atrocities imposed on and by their own people, I have no sympathy, really. Sad to say, but that's how I feel.

American circumsize their baby boys in great numbers, which should be considered barbaric.

That's funny, I'm circumcised, and I don't remember a thing about it. From what I just read after a google search on "health benefits of male circumcision", your statement is debateable, to say the least.

Ayatollah Khomeini: "Allah did not create man so that he could have fun. The aim of creation was for mankind to be put to the test through hardship and prayer. An Islamic regime must be serious in every field. There are no jokes in Islam. There is no humor in Islam. There is no fun in Islam. There can be no fun and joy in whatever is serious."

I've seen and heard enough in Catholic circles to agree this is common. For example, our Priest indicates a pro-palestinian slant sometimes in his comments. This is due to mistaken view of who is the 'oppressed' in the mideast, and, well, Catholics have to stand for the 'oppressed'.

Abuse? In Islamic eyes it is normal, day to day living.

It is disturbing that many Catholics have adopted a philosophical preference for Islam over Judaism

What?!? Since when?!?

EVIL 'religion'.
EVIL people who believe in it.
It's time on this earth has long since passed.
The Islamic love of death over life is nothing less than acknowledgement that this suicidal 'religion' itself should die.
MUST die- before it poisons the world.

It is NOT at all comparable. The health risks and problems with FGM are very serious.

For males, it is safe, not at all harmful, and does have some health benefits.

I wonder how much influence the pope had/has on his people when a picture of him holding and then kissing the koran, is shown. It would make a Christian vomit to have a leader like this. Yes, there are people that claim to be Christian that would do and say something like this, but if they would paint them self green, live in a swamp, let their food rot under the bank and call them self a alligator, they would be as much of a alligator as those others that call themself a Christian would be.
I'm not saying this to hurt anyone. The truth stands for itself.

But we aren't barbarians. What was done to the prisoners was indeed minimal when related to what their kind does to each other but America doesn't stand for such. On the whole, America is civilized. America doesn't mutilate little girls or rapes them to send them to Hell. They do, we don't. Americans should never stoop to their level.

also feel that I will have this done for my son because of the risks of infection and also in some cases....cancer.

Overblown. Cleanliness will prevent that without mutilation.

Consider also these 2 observations: (a) Men who are circumcised as adults, report a significant reduction in sexual pleasure afterwards, and (b) Women who have experienced both, almost invariably say that sex is better with an intact man.

In light of this, I elected not to circumcise my son. As a Gentile I'm not religously obligated to, and so why make a sacrifice that isn't required?

I heard simular things before, but didnt realize it until a rosary group was formed from our parish.
This was right before we went to iraq after 911.

I was shocked when discussing "politics" that 80% of the women in our group had this attitude.

even worse, they stated that the Jewish ppl were just as aweful as the nazi's and that they were simply getting what they deserved from the palestians.

sympathy is not a good word to use. these "catholics" have no sympathy, they are not interested in "social justice" as they claim.
thier thoughts were that its "none of our bussiness" what happens to those under saddams rule, or anyone elses. US is just a bunch of bullys.

Scary bunch they were. i left and let them have thier hate fest.

"Thank Allah for Little Girls"

That's what Mohamed said on his wedding night with his 9 year old bride.

Khomeini would make the perfect villain for an objectivist novel like one from Ayn Rand.

No footnotes and no quotes. Many Catholics? I don't think so.

From Vatican II:

In Lumen Gentium §16:

But the plan of salvation ( propositum salutis ) also includes those who acknowledge the Creator. In the first place ( in primis ) among these there are the Moslems, who, professing to hold the faith of Abraham, along with us adore the one and merciful God, who on the last day will judge mankind ( qui fidem Abrahae se tenere profitentes, nobiscum Deum adorant unicum, etc. ).

From Nostra Aetate's §3:

Upon the Moslems, too, the Church looks with esteem. They adore one God, living and enduring, merciful and all-powerful, Maker of heaven and earth and Speaker to men (qui unicum Deum adorant etc...., homines allocutum). They strive to submit wholeheartedly even to His inscrutable decrees (cuius occultis etiam decretis toto animo se submittere student), just as did Abraham, with whom the Islamic faith is pleased to associate itself.

From Nostra Aetate §3:

"Though they do not acknowledge Jesus as God, they revere Him as a prophet. They also honor Mary, His virgin Mother; at times they call on her, too, with devotion."

From Nostra Aetate §3:

Although in the course of the centuries many quarrels and hostilities have arisen between Christians and Moslems, this most sacred Synod urges all to forget the past and to strive sincerely for mutual understanding. On behalf of all mankind, let them make common cause of safeguarding and fostering social justice, moral values, peace, and freedom.

Maybe not Catholics, but definitely Catholicism. The Church was obviously ignorant of the historic fact that Allah is not, and was never, the God of Abraham, Issac and Jacob.

It seems to me from the looks on the Arab men reading the papers and looking at the "pictures", they seemed more interested than appalled.

Unfortunately, women's rights are non-existant in Muslim countries. I always wonder where the little girls and women are when they show you what is happening on the streets of Iraq. The only time I've seen a woman, I am assuming here because they are dressed in head to toe in black, is scurrying around the market place avoiding any contact with anyone!

It's pretty common also, that after a hard day's work of protesting in the streets, they go home and take their real anger out on the wife with no hold barred. Evidently wife beating is a national pastime in most Muslim countries.

What I don't understand is why Muslim women in the USA don't try to get things changed for their suffering sisters in the Muslim world. I don't see Christina what's-her-name of CNN or any of the "contributing Muslim women reporters" in the MSM even taking about this.

This is probably sick, but if I were a Muslim woman, I'd be cheering on the GI prison guard with the cigarette in her mouth, suggesting she do more to these creeps than pose with an imitation AK-47 or have a dog leash around their neck!

This is like Bill Cosby as a kid saying..."Spread out, there no need for him to hit all of us". Did I say something that upset you? I don't think so.
