I just heard it on FoxNews. But I see her trying to house break an animal, not torture.

I'm really having a problem with them using the term "torture" here. Torture is having electrodes applied to your genitals, and then having the power turned on. Torture is being tossed in an acid bath. Etc.

FORT BRAGG, N.C. (AP) -- Army Pfc. Lynndie England, shown in photographs smiling and pointing at naked Iraqi prisoners, was charged Friday by the military with assaulting the detainees and conspiring to mistreat them.

England, 21, faces four allegations, according to a statement from the XVIII Airborne Corps at Fort Bragg.

She is accused of "assaulting Iraqi detainees on multiple occasions;" conspiring with another soldier, Spc. Charles Graner, to mistreat the prisoners; committing an indecent act; and committing acts "that were prejudicial to good order and discipline and were of nature to bring discredit upon the armed forces through her mistreatment of Iraqi detainees."

The charges must be taken up in Article 32 investigation, a process similar to a civilian grand jury, before they can be sent to a general court-martial.

No lawyer has been appointed yet to represent England, according to Col. Billy Buckner, a spokesman for the division. She may also hire a civilian lawyer, he said.

England was reassigned to a military police unit at Fort Bragg when she returned from Iraq and will continue her duties, the Corps statement said. Her family said Friday that she is four months pregnant with Graner's child.

Both were members of the 372nd Military Police Company, based in Cumberland, Md.

What they did is take pictures...bad bad..and got caught but torture I think not, humiliation most defiantly. She will no doubt with her buddies be made scape goats to appease the Teddy Kennedys and friends. Boot her out of the military but other than than drop it.

I read somewhere that they said they were following orders from the military intelligence to soften these prisoners up.

They appear to be fallguys to me. Who is the mastermind?

Please, Mr. President . . . Call out the militia. The traitors in our midst need to be dealt with and the regular military has its hands full. We will be only too glad to serve, but YOU must mobilize us.

Secretary Rumsfeld indicated that there is more photographic and video evidence of worse misconduct yet to come; do not be quick to say that this is "only" humiliation.

If your wanted to psychologically humiliate an Iraqi prisoner, to get them to crack, the best way to do it would be to use the smallest, most petite FEMALE you have around..ergo..her...

Those pictures should NEVER have been in a position where they could be leaked. The investigative body was exceedingly sloppy, or worse - disloyal.

The general's sex is not an issue so much as her approach to her MOS. The reports indicate that she did not believe in following SOP. He**, she did not think that proper uniform or military courtesy (saluting, etc.) should be enforced. A fish rots from the head.

There were hearings today. This was not policy. There is an investigation, but it appears this small band of rogue sickos were an aberration.
