But first there must be an attempt to paste together a central government.

Multi-sources on that. CIA Country fact book. (I'll look up links later.) Global Security. Some of the material in open press sources at time of train explosion. (They had one too.)

Try this: http://www.globalsecurity.org

On left side, near top, look for special weapons. When that page comes up,scroll down to "countries",and you'll come up with a whole page. Follow links from there.

But why Iran threw away the Sadr militia and much of their force of agents just to cause trouble is beyond me

It's simple. Sadr is a red cape, we are a bull and Iran is the matador. So long as we are preoccupied with the red cape, we are not watching the matador pull out the sword (nuclear weapons). The terrorists play the media, the left and the soccer moms "like a harp from hell". Fortunately, Bush and Rummy know this and have no intention of letting Iran get away with it.

"We suffered thousands of casualties AFTER defeating Germany for several years during the occupation!!! "

You have been brainwashed. I was there. We suffered no casualities from the Nazis after the war. Check with the Library of Congress.

"I think the so-called Werewolfs continued to plant roadside bombs and snipe at our people for a couple of years after Hitler fell, so it has happened in the past. "

You have been brainwashed too. I was there. We suffered no casualities from the Nazis after the war. Check with the Library of Congress.

Here's some information on occupation casualties in Germany after WWII. Of course, I realize that not all information on the net is correct -- if you feel this information isn't right I'll be glad to stand corrected. (And please note that even if this information is right, it seems to make a point that occupation casualties in Iraq are FAR higher than they were in Germany -- which might be the main point that you and others are trying to make.)

While there was no strong resistance movement in Germany (Werewolves, Jagdverbaende, Bundschuh, Edelweiss Piraten, to mention just a small sampling of the creative names), there were post-combat casualties. According to the Statistical and Accounting Branch of the Office of the Adjutant General's Final Report from 1947, there were forty-two battle casualties from June through December 1945. Included in this number were thirty two (32) killed in action, eight (8) soldiers, who died of wounds and injuries they sustained in action, and two (2) that were missing in action and declared dead during the reporting period.(p. 32) . . . . Most unit records I have examined did not attribute these acts to an organized resistance, but rather to juvenile delinquents or disgruntled German veterans. Still, the threat of a Nazi underground seemed real enough to the soldiers who were in Germany at that time. As one WWII veteran put it, "I kept my Mauser ready at all times."

Thanks for the info. It bears out what I know to be true. Yes guys died post-war from wounds received prior to war end and some died from accidents, including Patton. It is totally disinformation for anyone to equate this with Iraq. I'm glad you don't.
