Never mind any other job...elected officials have lost their jobs with less of a mouth problem than Fortney.

Good, I hope he gets his @ss run out of Congress! No chance - from what I've heard about Fortney's district, all this will do is substantially increase his margin of victory in November, assuming the Republicans can even find someone to run against him.

Unless its one of the Gannet Press newspapers. :-)

If Pete Stark worked in any other employment category than "elected official", he would have been fired and tossed out on his butt. After getting his ass whipped in the cafeteria by his former co-workers.

This guy is enough to frost you. Are there enough republicans in that district to elect someone else?

"Only if his point was that he is an idiot." Yeah, he got that point across real well....along with the point that he is an @$$hole.

3-1 democrat advantage judging by the primary results.
To: EggsAckley
You know there are now some papers that won't even allow us an excerpt don't you? All we can post is a title and a link.

Well now, since the letter and the audio of Stark's response are readily available, why are BOTH not all over the news?

It was on NBC News today...a cousin of mine told me about it in Maine. I guess the NBC11 affiliate (link below) forwarded the news item to NBC Network affiliates who can pick it up if they want to. But other than that, the "left leaning" media probably won't give it much play. If it were a republican...well, that's another story!

Hi there. Thanks for the welcome. I am sorry that I breached protocol in the posting message. I was a blogging 'virgin' until today. I am hoping to learn more about the etiquette and how to post the best types of posts. Best to you all.

Rep. Stark is a real jerk.
How convenient of NBC to leave out the fact he is a Dimocrat.

Stark was one of only 3 to vote against "Under God" in the Pledge of Allegiance. http://www.frontpagemag.com/Articles/ReadArticle.asp?ID=1516 "On Thursday the House of Representatives voted 416 to 3 to denounce the court ruling. Three Democrats voted against the Pledge of Allegiance Michael Honda (D.-Calif.), Robert Scott (D.-Virginia), and Fortney Pete Stark (D.-Calif.).
