Iranian Alert -- May 10, 2004 [EST]-- IRAN LIVE THREAD -- "Americans for Regime Change in Iran"
The Iranian Student Movement Up To The Minute Reports ^ | 5.10.2004 | DoctorZin

Posted on 05/09/2004 9:00:10 PM PDT by DoctorZIn

The US media almost entirely ignores news regarding the Islamic Republic of Iran. As Tony Snow of the Fox News Network has put it, “this is probably the most under-reported news story of the year.” Most American’s are unaware that the Islamic Republic of Iran is NOT supported by the masses of Iranians today. Modern Iranians are among the most pro-American in the Middle East.

There is a popular revolt against the Iranian regime brewing in Iran today. I began these daily threads June 10th 2003. On that date Iranians once again began taking to the streets to express their desire for a regime change. Today in Iran, most want to replace the regime with a secular democracy.

The regime is working hard to keep the news about the protest movement in Iran from being reported. Unfortunately, the regime has successfully prohibited western news reporters from covering the demonstrations. The voices of discontent within Iran are sometime murdered, more often imprisoned. Still the people continue to take to the streets to demonstrate against the regime.

In support of this revolt, Iranians in America have been broadcasting news stories by satellite into Iran. This 21st century news link has greatly encouraged these protests. The regime has been attempting to jam the signals, and locate the satellite dishes. Still the people violate the law and listen to these broadcasts. Iranians also use the Internet and the regime attempts to block their access to news against the regime. In spite of this, many Iranians inside of Iran read these posts daily to keep informed of the events in their own country.

This daily thread contains nearly all of the English news reports on Iran. It is thorough. If you follow this thread you will witness, I believe, the transformation of a nation. This daily thread provides a central place where those interested in the events in Iran can find the best news and commentary. The news stories and commentary will from time to time include material from the regime itself. But if you read the post you will discover for yourself, the real story of what is occurring in Iran and its effects on the war on terror.

I am not of Iranian heritage. I am an American committed to supporting the efforts of those in Iran seeking to replace their government with a secular democracy. I am in contact with leaders of the Iranian community here in the United States and in Iran itself.

If you read the daily posts you will gain a better understanding of the US war on terrorism, the Middle East and why we need to support a change of regime in Iran. Feel free to ask your questions and post news stories you discover in the weeks to come.

If all goes well Iran will be free soon and I am convinced become a major ally in the war on terrorism. The regime will fall. Iran will be free. It is just a matter of time.

What's your problem?

Tired of FR being used for propaganda by islamic countries like Iran and Turkey. If Iranians are as pro-USA as you guys profess then where are the visible signs of support? Why is the FBI and similar agencies having near zero success in recruiting culture experts from within your ranks?

These vanity posts are about soliciting American support for a free Iran, not the reverse.

Where to begin? .... How about the President?

"In Iran, the desire for freedom is stirring. In the face of harsh repression, Iranians are courageously speaking out for democracy and the rule of law and human rights. And the United States strongly supports their aspirations for freedom..." (President Bush, May/'03)

How about Sen. Brownback?

Senator Brownback (R-KS) speech on Iran

"Some of my colleagues may be surprised to learn, as I was, that there has evolved a great change in Iran which has slowly taken place over the last several years. Many of us only hear about Iran in the news when Western media show violent protests - and the burning of the American flag surrounded by chants of "Death to America."

But my friends, that is exactly what the brutal regime in control of Iran wants you to think. The fact is, the overwhelming majority of Iranians today are strongly pro-American.

After Sept. 11th, the Iranian people took to the streets holding impromptu candlelight vigils in solidarity with the American people. As you can imagine, such action was highly embarrassing to the ruling mullahs - and harsh crackdowns were ordered, people were again imprisoned and tortured. What does it say to us that Iranians KNEW this would be the consequence of their action - and they did it anyway.

Contrast these scenes with the images that came from other nearby countries on that day, who are supposedly our allies - images that celebrated the destruction that came to our country on Sept. 11th. How can we fight a war on terrorism where we engage our enemies and ignore our friends? If we coddle the Iranian regime one iota, that is what we will be doing!! "

How about another Iranian? (posted here on FR last summer)

"I have never walked on your flag, I have never burnt it.
I said once, they painted your sacred flag on the entry of the campus I go! I swear I have never walked on it, I jumped over in winter on ice, in fall in rainy days, in summer.
What or who forced me to jump? you? your government? your movies? your culture? I doubt, it was me, my mind!
The respect you pay to your flag forced me to do so.
I hung one flag of the USA and one former flag of Iran on the wall of my room.
I just hoped that you understand this kind of feeling and I should say, this is not inside me only, I know many people here who act the same as I do."

More?

"President Bush has the support of Iranian people"

In a recent poll conducted in Iran and reported by usually reliable sources, three-quarters of the Iranian public opinion are supportive of President Bush and his plans for Iraq. Mr. Nima Rashedan, an Iranian journalist and commentator reports in his dedicated column (www.gooya.com) that the public in Iran is more supportive of and eager about the start of the war than people in Washington, D.C. or in Tel Aviv!

US Iranians march in California support of our President(Feb.'03)

"As a show of their solidarity with the United States, marchers leading the procession carried a large portrait of the Columbia astronauts and three huge American flags."

I could go on and on......And what "vanity posts" are you talking about? This Thread deals primarily in News posts, with very little comment.
You're entitled to your opinion. Please remember....Overthrowing the Iranian regime is essential to winning the War on Terrorism. That's the goal of President Bush and this administration.
Whether you want to accept the facts as to which side the Iranian people are on or not, Iran is critical to the President's plan.

I am tired of Iranian propaganda myself. That is one of the reasons I publish this thread.

But before charging us with being part of an Iranian propaganda effort, you ought to read the posts.

See the list of threads below:

http://www.freerepublic.com/~doctorzin/

We have published extensive evidence of the Iranian people's pro USA stance in these threads.

Ignoring the developments in Iran led to our present war on terror.

It is time to do all we can to support the Iranian people in their struggle against the Islamofasist Mullahs, before its too late.

Not chatter.....words from the President (unless you consider that chatter), News from different media sources, and photos. Sorry I can't provide a trip to Iran for you to witness their pro-America feelings myself.

Neither of you address my concern that there is almost no cooperation with our various LEOs in the WOT from iranians, here or there. I frankly find this on-going posting of "free Iran" tomes and then twisting the thrust of them to try to make it appear to be Iranian support for the US WOT disingenuous.

As for FP statements by POTUS, any observer knows the practicality of politically motivated dissembling, witness our praise of the Saudis. This is nothing more than political PR.

How do you know this? If covert operations were going on, they wouldn't covert if we all knew, would they?

Since when are news articles and editorials by poiticians, historians, mideast experts and Washington insiders considered "tomes"?

Nope. There are some of us who mostly just read the Iran Live Thread. It's handy having but one thread to check each day.

Do you have a source for this, please? I had not known of it. Perhaps my wife, who lived in Iran and speaks Farsi, should think about applying again.

I'm former LEO and my current work puts me in contact with various local and federal WOT TF components. It is they who complain about the lack of assistance from that community.

If your wife is truly interested she should call directly to the SAIC in the nearest FBI offices.

See my post above for how I know this, and I did not mention speculative covert ops which are not within the scope of domestic LEOs. It is translators and cultural insiders they need and are not getting from that community.

You and your friends seem much more concerned with US help for Iran than with the lack Iranian-in-America help in our war.

"You and your friends seem much more concerned with US help for Iran than with the lack Iranian-in-America help in our war."

How do you know they aren't getting it?
I'm telling you you're wrong.

This is really a foolish argument.
You started off complaining about how DocotorZIn did his posting (like that's some kind of an issue), and insinuating that no one cared or was interested in Iran,(which is ignorant and just your opinion), then said Iranians were not pro-American (which is just factually untrue), said this thread was full of vanity posts,(which it's not), then accused Iranians and FReepers of not doing anything to help the U.S. (And you have absolutely NO proof, unless you've uncovered everyone's identity and investigated everyone, in which case you'd find that to be untrue),then went on to say that any proof given was just "chatter" .....

I don't have time to argue foolishness.

Let's see, associates I've known for years in local and federal law enforcement tell me they're seeing no cooperation from your community but you, an anonymous propogandist on the internet, assure me that my sources are wrong, Iranians are actually helping us. Ok, I guess I'll take your word for it.

You know, I have no idea if they sport Iranian flags on their home pages. Haven't gone and read them -- except F14 Pilot's, I think, by invitation. Mine is there for a purpose.

But you say, "the Iranian flag." There is more than one. Surely you know what the different Iranian flags represent, and why the one is posted there.

As far as the FBI or whomever, well, she never heard from them. Standing rule: if it's that big, bureaucratic and buried... back away! You really don't want any part of it.
