Insider Report from NewsMax.com

A Soldier's Father Speaks Out

A gentleman from Virginia, proud parent of a decorated Army officer serving in Iraq, writes to us, "I am so fed up with the anti-American propaganda coming from some Americans that I wrote the open letter below. I will appreciate it very much if you include it": [text of letter follows]

An open letter to some political partisans, especially certain politicians and people in the media: I have a son who is an American soldier in Iraq.

I care very much about what affects him and his comrades in arms.

I am not fooled, when you partisans spew propaganda that helps our enemies and harms our soldiers, then tell us you support our troops.

I am not fooled, when you focus on, highlight, and exaggerate the negative things that happen in Iraq, while ignoring our positive accomplishments, then tell us you support our troops.

I am not fooled, when you focus attention on American soldiers killed and wounded in Iraq, to use these brave patriots as an anti-Iraq-war political football, then tell us you support our troops.

I am not fooled, when you keep criticizing why and how we invaded Iraq - that is done; our troops are there - then tell us you support our troops.

I am not fooled, when you engage in constant, carping criticism of what the U.S. has done and is doing in Iraq, then tell us you support our troops.

I am not fooled, when you search for and trumpet to the world anything that will diminish respect for our soldiers and their leaders - even when it endangers greatly their lives, then tell us you support our troops.

I am not fooled, when you tell our soldiers and the rest of us that they are stuck in a "quagmire" and will suffer a Vietnam-type defeat, then tell us you support our troops.

I am not fooled, when you spout propaganda that undermines the morale of our soldiers and the American public and boosts the morale of our enemies, then tell us you support our troops.

You are giving aid and comfort to our nation's deadly enemies! They know they cannot defeat us militarily in Iraq. However, you cause them to think they can win here politically by breaking our will, if they kill and wound enough of our soldiers.

You despicable partisans! You are stimulating our enemies to attack our soldiers and the people working with them. The blood of many Americans and Iraqis is already on your hands. And your hands collect more blood every day!

You are determined to regain the political power you have lost, and you believe your presidential candidate and congressional candidates will win, if the U.S. fails in Iraq.

If your anti-American propaganda contributes to the deaths of many Americans and Iraqis, that is a price you are willing to make them pay. You are pathetic and dangerous!

I am not fooled, when you contemptible politicians and other political partisans, including many in the media, tell us you support our troops. I know that is a lie!

I am not fooled, when you claim spreading your pernicious, divisive, anti-American venom makes you patriotic. I know it does not - and I know you are not!

And Republicans somehow confuse it with disloyalty.

When the speech aids and abets the enemy, what are you suppose to call it? The rhetoric from the left, is the exact same as what our enemies are spouting. The rhetoric from the left is lifting up our spirit of our enemy and giving them hope and motivation to fight. Just calling a spade a spade, or does that offend you? I know we should just roll over and take it when the left calls our leaders liars and murderers and the terrorist just innocent victims of western oppression....

Powerful letter! This father has stated my feelings exactly.

The pain felt by parents of our soldiers at the statements of politicians this father addresses is part of their terrible injury to our country.

I gave Bill Salier my support when he was running against Harkin but to no avail. Bill was a real conservative.

Bless your daughter, CharacterCounts!

The press ignores our voice, too...but Americans who were awake on 911 understand why your daughter is in Iraq, and we love our troops and civilians who are courageous enough to face this enemy there, so that we are left with fewer of them to battle here.

Please let her know she has an army of support on the homefront.

BUMP!

Wednesday May 11, 2004

Please keep this letter on the Front Page until all here have a chance to copy it and send it to their elected, expecially the Armed Services Committee. This paragraph should be sent to Ted Kennedy, Robert Byrd and John McCain for his pitiful, spineless approach to the enemy.

You despicable partisans! You are stimulating our enemies to attack our soldiers and the people working with them. The blood of many Americans and Iraqis is already on your hands. And your hands collect more blood every day!

I don't quite know how to ask this, but we are trying to start a weekly show where we will read letters from the troops in Iraq and Afghanistan and the surrounding areas that are in harms way. - this will include the Marines in the Horn of Africa and even in Haiti! From anywhere and everywhere!

We are NOT going to be doing a politically bent show for one side or the other, nor do we wish to air any information where our enemies can garner intelligence.

What we are looking for are what the major media would consider as 'mundane', 'boring', 'un-newsworthy' - We want the day to day reality of life. The trips to the local orphanages - helping rebuild a school - washing desert 'cammies' in a mud hole - a quiet day of solitude - an impromptu guitar song-fest in the desert.

All those little items of information that are sent home - we want to share with as many people as we can so they can 'relate' to our military. To let them know that these are our sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, friends .... not just nameless numbers or ratings. Let us see and possibly feel part of their lives.

We will not divulge last names nor address information - locations will be general - NO unit designations other than Army, Navy, Air Force, or Marine.

I have been posting these short letters to several news sites and the response from people has been tremendous. The American people want to KNOW their protectors!
If you want to narrate a story on the radio, we can set that up also (with the same restrictions to names, etc).

Please send your emails, stories, questions to me here or at:
letters @ gohotsprings.com

ps ... reports of all the heroics will be given special attention. We don't need a saga - so far the most popular letters have been the "short notes home" to Mom, Dad, etc.
Bring our military to life - to honor - to America.

I ask that you forward this letter to everyone you know that has a son, brother, daughter, sister, or friend in the military

Before reading this, understand that I have family of my own in the Middle East and fighting in the war.

It is an Americans responsibility to voice his/her opinion. I understand this. I agree a little bit with this mans letter, though I mainly disagree with it. The people he is talking about aren't using anti-American propaganda, they are just voicing their opinion. They don't want a war that they believe only wastes money in another country and that sacrafices American lives. We are too far into the war to back out now. That doesn't mean that they should just stop protesting. They let the politicians know that their is another voice in the country. The founding fathers knew that this would happen. They wanted this to happen. It shows that in this Republic (we aren't a Democracy or Represetative Democracy because we have many people rule us and we don't directly effect politicians decisions) the majority doesn't always win and that any lunatic can't just effect the country, not even that leftist Micheal Moore. This man sees the war as protecting America. Others see it as a waste of America's time. I believe it was good to get Saddam out but some of the REASONS stated originally to go to war like WMDs that were proven not to exist, are just rediculous.
Sincerely,
One American's Voice

Please thank your brave family members for serving.

The WMD issue has been distorted, but there is no doubt that Saddam used WMDs on over 40 villages, and mass-murdered women and children, was actively seeking long-range missiles specially fitted to distribute chems, had already invaded his neighbors, financed terrorism around the world, murdered children and blamed it on the US, and incited anti-American hatred world-wide by providing talking points (lies) to too eager helpers, like ANSWER and Sean Penn - and providing the platform for Osama Bin Ladin's lie-packed 1998 jihad statement that inflamed the mideast pre-911 and still inspires the young to die - for uninvestigated, unreported, readily verifiable LIE - that IS the Osama Bin Laden 'call to arms' against America. Saddam also terrorized the Iraqi people for over 34 years...and promised them that his cruel sons would continue his legacy.

He was absolutely a weapon of mass destruction, and the war, a just cause.

More facts.
