Thank you all for the kind remarks.

Sincere condolences to everyone reading here who lost a childhood friend, a relative, a co-worker, a neighbor, a former classmate, or even someone who you did not know personally, but always admired, like Barbara Olson.

9-11 belongs to all of us: the grief, the tears, the sadness--but also the resolve to see that justice is done in the name of the three thousand who fell that day.

Raymond York, 45, Valley Stream, N.Y., USA firefighter, New York Fire Department Confirmed dead, World Trade Center, at/in building

I grew up in the same neighborhood that Ray did and we shared many friends. From what I was told, Ray was on light duty that day due to an injury. He was teaching fire safety at a school. When he heard what happened at the WTC, he ran down there to help.

There's a note on a memorial site for Raymond from his younger brother that will make you laugh and cry....

I miss my brothers voice he loved to imitate sylvester stallone,he loved to sing "New York ,New York"Only to him it was" Ray YORK,Ray York".I thought I would get to hear him sing that many times more but instead I dream of him singing it.

link here

There's too many names on this list of people I shared a part of my life. Some were just acquaintances, a few danced at my wedding. It's nice to know that people here don't look at this as just a list of names, but of real people with real lives. People that will be remembered always.
