My point is, was there not a word of condemnation for those who killed him? I mean this wasn't even a close call, seeing your son murdered by fanatics that way.

And in a few media reports, the Mother also kinda ridiculed the intentions of her son in Iraq by saying something like "He had this idea
that he could rebuild communications..."
I send my prayers to Nick and his entire family, but his Mom's comment shows her disdain and disapproval for what Nick wanted to do in Iraq. Thoughts like that people should keep to themselves; not say them out loud after there has been a death. It shows she did not believe in her son's goals. Maybe she is not thinking her best; I would understand, I guess.
