Ensign blasts Kennedy over Iraq comments

Nevada Senator John Ensign blasted Democrat Ted Kennedy for his "shameful" statements likening US soldiers to Saddam Hussein's torturous regime.

The Nevada Republican was commenting on a statement credited to Senator Kennedy Tuesday. Kennedy is quoted as saying, "Shamefully, we now learn that Saddam's torture chambers reopened under new management: U.S. management."

Ensign believes Kennedy crossed the line with his comments and called on Kennedy to retract them immediately. "To express disappointment or anger over what has occurred at Abu Ghraib prison is one thing. To put American servicemen and women in the same category as one of the most evil and bloodthirsty regimes in modern history is reprehensible."

Ensign said it is appalling that anyone would make those kind of comparisons, let alone a US Senator. "I'm disgusted and ashamed that such a comment would be made by anyone, in any setting. For it to be uttered by a United States Senator is especially shameful."

He believes Kennedy owes US service members an apology. "Senator Kennedy needs to retract that statement and apologize immediately to the men and women risking their lives in Iraq."

Yes -- another Republican Senator weighs in against the RATs! That makes two I have seen so far -- Senator Inhofe and now Senator Ensign.

Some others better be getting their acts together and get out there to condemn these RATs and their statements!

Don't hold your breath Senator. He will let you drown before he apologizes. (pun intended)

Sen Graham had some very strong words today, as did Domenici.

Thanks for the info -- I was hoping we had some more -- that's up to four! I believe the RATs once again have overplayed their hand -- how anyone can vote for these RATs is beyond me!

IMO no single individual has done more harm to this country than Ted Kennedy has during his tenure in the senate.

I blame his liver.

Kennedy is like a box of milk that is four weeks past its expiry date. Its tastes awful and smells so bad you don't want to touch it.

Kennedy has been around way too long and its time he retires.

Senator kennedy is frantically digging through his attic right now, looking for his neck brace. Just in case he needs the pity vote to pull his lazy, drunken a** out of the sling. He is a despicable creature who has long worn out his welcome.

I just wrote to Senator Ensign and told him that he didn't go nearly far enough. Kennedy needs to be at the very least censured for his treasonous statements. Personally, I think he should be arrested and charged with treason.

But of course since there is a liberal media blackout on these statements of Kennedy's, he didn't say them for all intents and purposes in the Orwellian world in which we live.

"...that's up to four!"

Unfortunately, I live in Ohio so I've learned to expect very little from the Rinos Voinovich and DeWine. They like the good-ol'-boy perks too much to make waves.

Hey, a man who kills a woman and walks away to become senator for life obviously doesn't have to apologize to anyone for anything. It's called "Getting away with murder".

If he thinks this mutt is going to apologise he has another thing coming. Kennedy is a mentally unstable drunk who shouldn`t be in office, should have been kicked out long ago right after driving that car into the water, and who if you remember had no problem betraying his country by telling the world Iraq was a farce. And this guy has been Senator how long? 40+ years? Whatever crack the people in Mass are smoking, they better start taking a hard look in the mirror and ask themselves what country never mind what state this psychotic represents, because it sure as hell ain`t the US.

Edward M. Kennedy is fat, drunk and stupid. He should have been drummed out of the Senate thirty-five years ago, when the incident occurred at Chappaquaddick. And if his two brothers had not died by assassination, he would have been removed. An odd sympathy had grown up around the name, and Teddy was the recipient of that sympathy. The residual effect of that sympathy is to excuse Teddy from responsibility in ANY sphere, even today, no matter how outrageous a statement he might make. The man is just plain pig-mean.

John Belushi gotten old. But without the talent.
