Oh- And in the interest of full disclosure- I am 100% against this war and always have been. It is hardley a secret on this site.

That's been no secret to me. :-)

So... when elections are finally held, I suppose you would say that Saddam should be allowed to run for re-election?

Be well. I'm going to have to sign off for today. Battery indicators are insufferable masters.

old helicopter ride technique

I hear it works/worked every time.

Seriously, so we catch Masawi(sp) and have him in custody.Do we:

a)"press" him -with pain- for info as to the wherabouts of others, names, dates, places...

b)Place a bag over his head and have him pose naked with a GI pointing to his genitals to later pass around town and publicly humiliate him?

c)Place him in a cozy air conditioned cell, replete with everything stateside convicts have, and be sure to say please, and thank you, when offering him breakfast, lunch and dinner???

Some on this board will indeed pick three.

" Sivits told investigators that the abuse would not have happened had higher-ranking members been present. "Our command would have slammed us," he said. "They believe in doing the right thing. If they saw what was going on, there would be hell to pay."

John Kerry, who was NOT there, said the abuse goes way up the chain of command , basically to 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.
Sivit's statement makes Kerry out to be a liar.
Not that we didn't already know that.

Both Sivits and Pieron said that a sergeant first class at one point witnessed an incident and ordered the soldiers to stop. Pieron said he thought the sergeant saw Davis stepping on a detainee.

"They were surprised at how angry he was when he told them to stop," Pieron said.

Looks like this Sgt understood honor. I'll note they indicate they didn't GET it.

"How should we treat these prisoners? How would you?"

With me being three score plus and of a mindset to a much earlier time, there would have been no prisoners. I say kill all the creeps caught operating against the coalition, send them all to their 72 ugly old whores.

Take no prisoners, just kill them, kill them all. Make self preservation their highest priority for the foreseeable future. I enjoyed the Arab TV footage today when a terr perp spotted the camera on him, he leaped out into an ally (for the Arab world to see how brave he was) to squirt his little un-aimed AK "gangsta" style at the Americans. I really liked it when what appeared to be a short burst from an American .50 cal churned him up and deposited his very limp arse against the wall, like the garbage he was.

The American fighting man in WW2 Pacific theater recognized at the time the fanatical Japs for what they were, less than human, to be exterminated at every chance with no quarter given. I have seen the films where American submariners routinely machine gunned survivors after their ship was torpedoed. The reasoning was, they might be rescued by the Jap navy, so kill'em now, or kill'em later, why wait, do it now.

The Japs started it all on Guadalcanal when American saw blades flashing in the sun as the Japs beheaded our wounded & captured.

That set the scenario for the rest of the war, and the Japs paid tens of thousands fold for their deeds that day.

We are not dealing with civilized rational human beings, we are dealing with creatures who are less than animals, just think of them as cock roaches or gnats, undeserving of note when slapped, crushed or stomped. The Geneva convention is reserved to be applied to a civilized enemy, not to such animals as Al Quida or any other Allah Akabar ^%$## frigging name they choose for any given day.

The military is curently investigting at least two murders of Prisoners by our troops and looking at 25 others as possible murders. The recent pictures that our congressmen got to look at show even worse abuse.

From what I heard, a lot of what is contained in that report was hearsay from the detainees themselves and has not been substantiated. As far as the 'murders' are concerned, again I'd heard that at least one was murdered by another detainee, and one might have died during a disturbance.

As far as the additional pictures being 'worse' than the others, I thought the Dems had used up all their hyperbole in the last week. I doubt we'll see any of these other photos; the Red Cross has said that showing them would be against the Geneva Convention. I do wonder if the congressmen who were so upset by the naughty photos of the naked living Iraqis took the time to see any pictures of the clothed, headless, Nick Berg to get some perspective on what exactly IS torture!

Oh really? Like what? Why don't you tell us exactly what you're referring to?
