The GWB camp is Lazy. That is the only conclusion I can come to. They sat back and allowed the DNC and partisan media to attack the economy and WOT since Oct of last year....they never responded until March of this year (and since then, have chosen to respond in the manner in which the least amount of energy is expensed).
Zogby is biased ...no doubt....but poll after poll is showing GWB approval rating sinking...(don't talk to me about Rassmuseen....I went with POA in 2000....not again this year...).
This is all a bunch of crap. All is hear is how this country is so evenly divided, and how there are only 5% left undecided and all this guff. But then the polls change significantly over a two-week period. And then when they analyze individual state polls, Bush is still winning based on electoral votes. Complete crap.
Or shrewd. Right now Kerry might as well not be campaigning because of the full court press going on by the media. The President could spend half of his war chest right now and it wouldn't be noticed in the current media storm.
On the other hand, they can let this media crap storm blow itself out and conserve their money for when it will be most effective.
Uh, have you noticed that Kerry no longer talks about the economy?
The economy is improving, will continue to improve.
I contend that it is the Kerry campaign that is inept, and that he has very shallow support.
Americans don't like Kerry much. That much we know.
He is certainly not trusted as honest and trustworthy.
And, he has nothing to add to Iraq.
no, they aren't shrewd at all. they have no media strategy, we are never on offense, we don't have a dedicated set of senators et al with talking points to flood these talk shows and represent our positions. Zell Miller and Joe Liberman have been better on this prison issue then most of the Republicans.
Pieces of crap media are doing their jobs for Kerry and the terrorists. My anger is beyond expression.
How many times have I heard that coming from the left, right, up and down. People have an amazing aptitude for underestimating the President.
I am really talking more about the white house political team (Rove, etc) then Bush himself. I don't expect Bush to be cobbling together a media strategy - that's what Rove and perhaps Karen Hughes are supposed to do.
This Poll is meant to sow doubt in our minds. All signs point to a Landslide win by the President in November. Bush needs to keep doing what he's doing and we need to keep advancing our arguments. Rove is running a brilliant campaign and the Rats are overplaying their hand as usual. This will all come back to bite them in the hiney. You just watch. TO VICTORY!!!!
Republicans amuse most people read Newsmax and/or listen to Sean Hannity on a regular basis. However most people have never heard of the various conservative news outlets.
With another four months to go before the election, there's time enough for at least four more hearings at which to lynch President Bush, OR at the very least, reduce his "approval" rating to minus 10.
If not for Iraq, Bush would now have about a 55% approval rating, and he'd be 10 points ahead of Kerry.
The situation in Iraq seems to be cooling down right now, but this has been last in all the prison-abuse uproar. Fewer casualties this month and Fallujah and Karbala are much quieter. If the situation continues to improve, Bush should have no problem whatsoever being re-elected.
Unfortunately, Kerry's terrorist allies know this.
Now would not be a productive time to waste campaign money. They are going to need it far more in the days ahead.
Ed Negrin discusses his trucks' red, white and blue design theme with Air Force Master Sgt. Cassandra White and Army Master Sgt. Bruce Allen May 14 in the Pentagon's center courtyard. Negrin and his wife, Tonie, were at the Pentagon with two of their decorated trucks to show support for U.S. service members. The trucks feature photos of service members, as well as Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld; Army Gen. John Abizaid, head of U.S. Central Command; other military leaders and President Bush. Actually, since Zogby lumps fair in with bad, a 42% approval rating really means Bush is pretty close to 50%. That's not bad at all, considering the press frenzy lately. Once this dies down, and it will, and when and if Iraq quiets down just a little, Bush will bounce back.
You've got that right. In fact I think that they play on the same team; just different positions.
Either they wasting their employers time, or this is their job.
Secondly, people not liking Kerry is mute. Incumbents win or lose based in the public as the perception that they want "the man in office back".....regardless of the opponent.....The public didn't vote Bill Clinton into office...they threw out Bush Sr.
they are spending a ton of campaign money alredy on ads against Kerry - which is a good thing, the only good thing going on right now, to get Kerry's negatives up.
It doesn't take any campaign cash to use the bully pulpit and get into the evening news soundbites. Where was Bush on berg's decapitation, expressing outrage? Himself, not through Scott McClellan (who is terrible by the way). Where is Bush os gasoline prices, everyone is talking about it, he is totally detached from the issue.
