It takes a press willing to put his sound bites on air...or campaign money to buy air time.
No Incumbent party has ever won re-election when oil prices were rising
"All signs point to a Landslide win by the President in November. "
Exactly what signs are those?
That is an interesting observation and I've never considered it before. Very curious indeed !!!!!!
Do they give you some kind of cheat sheet to copy from?
There are three very vocal regulars that I can think of right off hand who keep normal work hours...only.
the press will put it on the air, he'll get a soundbite out of almost anything he says. Make a speech encouraging employers to facilitate carpools and telecommuting during the gasoline crunch - that will make the nightly news. Make a speech expressing disgust about the Berg decapitation, that would make the news also.
im gloomy, because history suggest i should be
LOL! You are kidding, right? Not everyone watchs Fox, and it you believe CBS, NBC, ABC and CNN are going to give the President a break...whoa.
I got the poll on Wednesday and filled it out all pro Bush. It was emailed to me
So, tell me...how are you so up on all of this doom and gloom history? Do you simply collect negative notes or are you just cutting and pasting from a cheat sheet?
That must be news to Slick Willard who won re-election in 1996 as oil prices were rising:

those two examples I gave - both would get coverage.
that's what it means to have a media strategy. some generic rah-rah statement at a factory someplace is meaningless. contrast that with Rumsfeld appearing before the troops in Iraq, smart move, gets coverage.
You have far more faith in the press then I do...or a far better imagination.
As if the election season isn't trying enough....now we must also endure the Zogby brothers' wet dreams.
Lord, give us strength!
He's more than just gloomy. He's a liar who makes up statistics ...which most here seem to take at face value.
Oil prices rose from !16.75 in 1995 to about $20 in 1996. Big Deal. Not even 25%. Youre only fooling yourself if you dont think oil at $40 per barrel is a political libability and a huge one
Fact is when there has been an oil spike such as 1973-75, 1979-80, 1991 and 2000, the incument party loses
For those who missed it.
When Lie No. 1 is exposed, out comes Lie No. 2. You're becoming a bore.
