but everyone would post on the "Whitewater" forum.

That's not true.
SOME of us were quite diligent and devoted to the practice of self-discipline in selecting the appropriate topic to post to. My personal favorite was "France and the French". But now, just try to get the PTB to add "France" to the list of nations available to select from when posting. (along with a few other glaring omissions)
Go ahead, I DARE ya!
Sheeeeeeesh!
I've been patiently and politely suggesting that for what seems like forever now.
Does ANYBODY ever hear my pleas?
Nooooooooooo!
It's just a little gripe,
but it's under my skin and making me so hoppin' mad that I almost wish I HAD posted everything to "Whitewater".

You ditched so the thread, as it was a non-news site, became the catch-all point of bored FReepers sharing Friday night BS. An online community as large as this has grown can not stay all serious all the time. Note that the comments directed at you were rather half hearted or so over-the-top they were obviously "piling on". Just healthy venting and nothing personal.

It seems you've been away a while. Not only do formats change but the way people adapt to them does as well. All you can do is lie low and use the Private Reply option to communicate with those you know to catch up.

It's not as if we were Democrats or someth...no, there isn't much worse.

Thanks , I know it was a vent thing, or at least hope, its all good, I have thick skin and the ridiculous comments don't bother me. If anything, they may produce some pity from me to the poster. It has been very entertaining to say the least. Glad to be of service as the whipping boy.

Thanks for the input, ran quite a few things and came up clean. Bookmarked the home page and that seems to work.

Infections are the most serious business. Some very slickly written code has been making the rounds that seems to transmit through accessing web pages. Because it has bypassed all the hard work Microsoft has invested securing their products (that's sarcasm there), they and the big antivirus folks are taking the "we're above that sort of thing, you shouldn't have clicked that" stance.
All I got was one house on Baltic Avenue and a Community Chest card.

Fortunately a private firm wrote a cure for this specific problem called CW Shredder and released it for use because they were so archaic as to feel a sense of public responsibility. It's very small, runs quickly and has helped a lot of people who didn't know they had this junk residing. Click on the link and go to the large blue area just down on the right of the ugly web page.

Yes Sunflower, it seems to be a redirect on the server side to the news page instead of the home page, but the homepage url gets me there, thanks :)

Put your washer on the cold water, delicate cycle.
I use FAB, but any non-chlorine soap will do.

Stretch dry like you used to do your sweaters.
That way it makes your registry bigger.............like your sweaters when you put them on.

I knew there was something wrong with you! You're no tiger! ALL tigers love tuna! Especially tuna sandwiches - we are kinda stupid that way. (this is an allusion that is probably a tad before your time)

OK, I can accept that as an excuse - I did the same thing once with "Zero" bars.

You get to keep your stripes.
