I don't believe the abuse at Abu Ghraib had anything to do with interrogation techniques.

Agree.

Are they still trying to get Rumsfeld fired?

Well of course they are. It's about all they have going right now.

They sound positively idiotic
The new themesong of the democrat party

They're Coming to Take Me Away, Ha-haaa!

Remember when you ran away
And I got on my knees
And begged you not to leave
Because I'd go berserk?
Well. . .

You left me anyhow
And then the days got worse and worse
And now you see I've gone
Completely out of my mind
And. . .

They're coming to take me away, HA HA
They're coming to take me away, HO HO HEE HEE HA HA
To the funny farm
Where life is beautiful all the time
And I'll be happy to see
Those nice, young men
In their clean, white coats
And they're coming to take me away, Ha-haaa!

You thought it was a joke
And so you laughed
You laughed when I had said
That losing you would make me flip my lid
Right. . .

You know you laughed, I heard you laugh
You laughed, you laughed and laughed
And then you left
But now you know I'm utterly mad!
And. . .

They're coming to take me away, HA HA
They're coming to take me away, HO HO HEE HEE HA HA
To the happy home
With trees and flowers and chirping birds
And basket weavers who sit and smile
And twiddle their thumbs and toes
And they're coming to take me away, Ha-haaa!

I cooked your food
I cleaned your house
And this is how you pay me back
For all my kind, unselfish loving deeds?!!
Hah. . .

Well you just wait
They'll find you yet
And when they do they'll
Put you in the ASPCA, you mangy mutt!
And. . .

They're coming to take me away, HA HA
They're coming to take me away, HO HO HEE HEE HA HA
To the funny farm
Where life is beautiful all the time
And I'll be happy to see
Those nice, young men
In their clean, white coats
And they're coming to take me away, Ha-haaa!

To the happy home
With trees and flowers and chirping birds
And basket weavers who sit and smile
And twiddle their thumbs and toes
And they're coming to take me away, Ha-haaa!

To the funny farm
Where life is beautiful all the time
And I'll be happy to see
Those nice, young men
In their clean, white coats
And they're coming to take me away, Ha-haaa!

That's all I had to see to know this was an anti-Rummy anti-Bush article.

I bet that New Yorker magazine will be a real Piece of Work, too.

"It was not torture and it was not interrogation or "softening them up." It was just a stupid, stupid game being played by a few sick individuals."

The people who screwed up and allowed the conditions for those games need to be hit. If they winked at excesses beyond Rumsfeld’s approved soft torture techniques, they should be slammed equally as hard as those playing games.

I see this as an all or nothing moral imperative. Either fire down on everyone involved or no one involved. I almost don’t care which. I hate scapegoating.

"Hogwash! It may be inexcusable but it was not abuse it was humilating and embarrassing and doesn't even come close to torture."

Guess some of us consider homosexual rape more abusive than others. Now we know what you think of it.

"How do you get that many morons on the same shift? "

If you stick disgruntled reservists in that hell hole for a year, surrounded by terrorist firing at them under command of a general who never even visited them, I’m surprised they all didn’t turn to photographing orgies and raping prisoners.

Yeah, It's wrong and perverse and if it was done those who did it should be punished. But as horrible as that would be it still pales in comparision to what was done to those 4 contractors who were killed, burnt and hung on the bridge and the decapitation of Nick Berg.

Next time don't jump to conclusions, even Marine intell analyst can make mistakes.

[smile] The only thing I assumed was that the comment would get under your skin and perhaps focus you on that overstatement.

I don’t like judging ourselves by our enemies’ standards. If we judged Italian food by the standards of French food, it would become French.
