I am proud as all hell to announce to FReeperdom that Bacon Man, my best friend of more than 20 years, and his amazing lady Hap have tied the knot!
They were married yesterday afternoon, May 15, 2004, in a small ceremony at the Chapel at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, attended by family and friends. It was undoubtedly the best wedding I've ever been to.
They're the best people I know, and their love is so strong that you feel better just being around them.
Please join me in a huge Mazel Tov for the happy couple!

They picked a good day for it, yesterday the Missus and I celebrated our 28th anniversary. May their union achieve equal or greater longevity.

L'chaim is also a pretty neat word, apt for this situation in particular.
I'd send my own salutations in classical Latin, but it's been a little sketchy ever since I graduated from high school, so I'll just CONGRATULATIONS you two!

After much discussion it wasn't that kind of wedding (no thanks to Bacon, who had to be restrained from wearing a gorilla suit). We were all surprisingly classy. :)
There had been talk of all of us dressing up as our favorite cartoon/sitcom characters; I would have opted for Peg Bundy, myself. Leather and 95-degree Vegas heat aren't the most felicitous ensemble mix.
