"Roadside Sarin" (*good read from WSJ editors*)

The WMD we haven't found is still a threat.

Tuesday, May 18, 2004 12:01 a.m.

Yesterday's report that a roadside bomb containing sarin nerve agent exploded recently near a U.S. convoy in Baghdad isn't impressing most of the press corps. They're dismissing it as no big deal--though we'd guess it was a rather large event for the two U.S. explosives experts lucky enough to escape with only minor exposure.

Thanks. I personally suspect that Mark Fuhrman planted the Sarin bomb to frame Hussein.

Come on guys, it's only one shell and I'm sure it's the only one that escaped destruction when Clinton bombed Iraq. ;-)

When shall the "press" darlings go inspect the Nuke-Bio-Chem sites?

Could be a scoop for NBC's Today Show reporting on 'nothing like the smell of Raid (only 0.55% "ert" ingredients) in the morning, but no big deal, poison gas is not WMD, according to the perky reporters, safe from reality - but only for a while.

Would sarin, a serious binary gas, et al. "dispersed" from a 155mm IED at NBC Plaza become a WMD?

Perhaps WMD is better defined by one's proximity to the weapon's effective ranger. If so, there may be no live reports on WMD.

So now is the time to report on what the Koran and Haddith actually commands devout muslims to - conquor the world entire.

Muslimsare commanded, not asked, as their "holy" scriptures discuss all mass murders and treachery required and inspire many more "merciful" beheading rituals as first ordered by Mo'ham' when he invaded his neighboring Jewish community after leaving behind his life as butcherous caravan raider and rock-in-the-tent worshipper.

If the Big Mo' could order the decapitation of nearly a thousand men after the battle sale of women and children not young (very young) and pretty enough for "marriages", along with the theft of the Jews' wealth/land, Mo'ham's devout followers can do no less and often and here.

Heh, just think, another scandal or two and Clinton might have bombed that one.

I was thinking though, and I think others agree, that since it's one shell, it's really not a big deal, since there are probably caches of conventional artillery shells all over Iraq and it could have gotten mixed in.

After all, the guerillas we are fighting are not going to validate any reason we have for being there, and using anything remotely resembling a WMD would give Bush and the others the chance to say "SEE! We told you there were WMD in Iraq!!".

first your assuming there is only one shell which is not even likely let alone logical. But putting that asside lets put some context in this. For over a year now we have not seen any use of chemical weapons but suddenly with the hand over of power just around the corner we have a shell with mustard gas, a shell with Sarin, and a attempt by al queda from Iraq to use a "chemical bomb" reported to contain Sarin (among other chemicals) to kill thousands of people. Does that not seem a little coincidental? I suspect the terrorist realize they are losing and are pulling out all the stops now and that includes dipping into the WMD caches hidden by Saddam. And its working I heard yesterday that Iraqis are very fearful that these chemical weapons are going to be used on them by the terrorists.

I think you are forgetting the gorillas [not sic] are animals and spawns of the devil with brains the size of a radish. (see Nick Berg et al.)
