Was executed American contractor Nicholas Berg's decision to share his computer password with alleged "20th hijacker" Zacarias Moussaoui during a 1999 encounter in Norman, Okla., just a coincidence, as Attorney General John Ashcroft assured the nation last week?
Or was there more to this bizarre development than meets the eye?
Oklahoma City bombing investigator, former NBC reporter Jayna Davis, has been exploring some of the more troubling aspects of the Berg-Moussaoui meeting, especially in light of the role the city of Norman played in events leading up to 9/11.
First, says Davis, the official story which had Berg, then a University of Oklahoma engineering student, innocently giving up his password to Moussaoui is, in her words, "totally nonsensical."
On Sunday Davis explained why to WABC Radio's Monica Crowley:
"You're sitting on a bus. It's a five- to ten-minute ride [from campus to the Airman Flight School, where Moussaoui was taking flight lessons]. How in the world would a stranger sitting next to you say, 'Hey, can I borrow your laptop computer because I want to log on to your e-mail?'"
For the question to make sense, Davis argued, "You would have to have a cell phone, a modem and be online for it to be a logical request in the first place." The investigative journalist noted also that the FBI's version of the password incident differs considerably from that given by Berg's own family.
Berg told the FBI that "he was with an unidentified man who turned out to be a terrorist who passed this information about his confidential e-mail account to Zacarias Moussaoui," said Davis. Meanwhile, Berg's family insists that it was Moussaoui himself who met Berg on the bus that day.
"One theory the FBI was looking into was that it wasn't just this hapless encounter with an unidentified terrorist on a bus," Davis told Crowley, explaining that Berg "may have known" Moussaoui's two OU roomates.
"One of these men is known as Hussein al-Attas," she noted. Like Berg, al-Attas was an engineering student. "He's the OU student who personally drove Zacarias Moussaoui to flight training in Minnesota in August of 2001," noted Davis. "That's when the two were detained on immigration violations."
And that's where the story takes a sinister turn. According to Davis, a notorious individual with known terrorist ties attempted to post bail for Moussaoui's roommate. The unnamed benefactor was, said Davis, "vice president for overseas operations and recruiting for Al Fatah and a member of the Muslim Brotherhood."
"At the time, the Al Fatah recruiter was the target of a full field FBI investigation by the Oklahoma City headquarters," she told Crowley.
Another intriguing twist cited by Davis: Lead 9/11 hijackers Mohamed Atta and Marwan al-Shehhi toured the same Norman flight school in July 2000.
According to MSNBC, Atta and al-Shehhi stayed overnight at the Sooner Hotel on the OU campus, where Airman students get a discount - but left without signing up.
If anyone will dig up more info, she will. She's a brave woman.
This story is very interesting.
I'm not taking any of this at face value, but one can't help but wonder how many secular, leftist Jews in the United States hate their country with sufficient force to make them cross over to the other side?
Get her book THE THIRD TERRORIST. It is so good. I read 1/4 of it without putting it down. I got mine from local bookstore, they didn't have it yet, so they ordered one for me. I am sure you can get it online, too. It is excellent. I HOPE she stays safe.
I was thinking today about the anti American protests in the 1960s and 70s led by Bill Clinton, Jane Fonda, Joan Bayez, Abby Hoffman, Jerry Rubin... The antiEstablishment people. They used bombs sometimes to disrupt things, to maim, to kill, to destroy. They chanted Down with the Establishment (our gov., our way of business, our way of American life) It is no wonder that the left still won't attack the terrorists, they are on THEIR side....
Just peruse the message boards at aol, or msnbc, yahoo, and you will see that the Ameican Jews have Zero in common with their Iraeli counterparts. It's the same thing with blacks in America trying to identify with Africa. It just doesn't work! Israeli Jews fight for survival, American Jews fight for their bank accounts. Their clout. Their right to be heard. Best example: B. Striesand!
Please tell me that this physco isn't representative of all American Jews...humbly waiting to hear otherwise.
--- just a coincidence, as Attorney General John Ashcroft assured the nation last week?
He DID NOT say that!!! Are you serious?
Another official pretense of "coincidence theory" where the Al Qaeda Terrorist Conspiracy is concerned?
Give me a break.
This is starting to smell really bad.
Jayna may want to focus less on this angle and more on the very odd circumstances surrounding the Philly ANSWER cell, Prometheus Radio Project (who claim no connection with Prometheus Methods Tower Services), Sandra Berg and the VA Beach law firm she is part of, Dylan Wrynn and all sources of funding for both the two Prometheus monikered, radio related orgs, and the Philly ANSWER cell.
More than you think. I had a vision that perhaps Berg thought he was play acting for the video, and then Zarquawi crossed him. Any other Jew would have been reciting the Sh'ma and not voicing the terrorists written script....If that's the case, boy, was he surprised--he finally 'got the message' in the end.
Bojinka Plot Linked To 9-11 Terror
(http://www.shout.net/~bigred/bojinka, 10/29/01) -- "Bojinka" (loud bang) was the code
name given by Islamic terrorists to a 1995 plot to simultaneously bomb
eleven U.S. jumbo jets and crash a plane into CIA headquarters.
Additional targets of the 1995 Bojinka conspiracy were the Pentagon
and the World Trade Center.
The original plot was foiled by Philippine police. However, the
Bojinka plot may have spawned the bombing(s) of the Murrah building in
Oklahoma City (OKC).
Bojinka also apparently transmuted itself into the Sept. 11, 2001
terror attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. As those
attacks unfolded, a Philippine investigator gasped, "It's Bojinka!"
Stephen Jones (attorney for Timothy McVeigh, supposed mastermind of
the 1995 OKC bombing(s)), in the updated, paperback reissue of his
book, *Others Unknown*, shows a Philippine/Islam link behind the OKC
Jones' book is unfortunately not well known. Yet he is an expert on
international terrorists due to his wide-ranging investigation of the
OKC affair. Although Jones, as McVeigh's lawyer, may not be completely
impartial, he and his team of investigators unearthed intriguing
The 1993 fertilizer-bombing of the World Trade Center is traceable to
Iraqi intelligence, supported by a wider network of Muslim extremists,
argues Jones. Vincent Cannistraro, counter-terrorism expert, and Dr.
Laurie Mylroie, an expert on Iraq and terrorism, are "convinced that
the Iraqis, spearheaded by their intelligence service, [are] deeply
committed to attacking the United States -- *within* its borders,"
writes Jones.
This same *modus operandi* of fertilizer-bombs is seen in various
terror incidents perpetrated by radical Islam: the American embassy in
Beirut; the Al Khobar Towers in Dhahran; the 1993 World Trade Center
bombing. In the case of the OKC bombing(s) there is doubt whether a
single fertilizer-bomb could have caused such destruction to the
Murrah building. Jones also expresses skepticism regarding the
government's version of what happened to the Murrah building. His
perception is that the federal government early on decided to cut off
a wider, more complex probe in favor of blaming a simpler plot for the
But we may now be paying the price for the government's decision to
halt its original search for "others unknown" in its investigation of
the OKC bombing(s). The "others unknown" were apparently behind the
Sept. 11, 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon.
In his book, Stephen Jones focuses on Terry Nichols, an associate of
Timothy McVeigh. Nichols made several trips to the Philippines prior
to the April 19th bombing of the Murrah building. Jones questions how
Nichols, a marginally employed drifter, could have afforded these
numerous trips. How also did Nichols amass $20,000, gold, and jewels
which he hid in a storage locker in Las Vegas? Nichols' brother,
James, himself wondered, "Who paid for all the plane tickets?"
Edwin Angeles, interviewed by Philippine police, claims he was at a
meeting in the early 1990s on the island of Mindanao where he saw "the
Farmer" and Ramzi Yousef together. Jones shows that "the Farmer" was
Terry Nichols and that Ramzi Yousef, convicted in connection with the
Bojinka plot, is connected to Osama bin Laden.
Jones paints with too wide of a brush when he delves into the American
"far right." He does not adequately distinguish between the law-
abiding majority who are prepared to defend themselves and the tiny
sub-group who have wandered into aggressive violence. Nonetheless, it
is plausible, as shown by Jones, that, for example, neo-Nazis would
ally themselves with Islamic terrorist groups. The neo-Nazis hate the
Jews and Islamic extremists hate Israel. Politics makes strange
bedfellows, but in this case the pairing of neo-Nazis with a
worldwide, well-funded Islamic terrorist network is not far-fetched.

I read an account, just after the incident, which stated that Berg was screaming "why? why?" as they were assailing him.
Probably not, but paradoxically, American Jews do tend to lean leftward. And since hatred of America is a core precept of American leftism, it's logical to assume that any number of them might turn on their country--for ideological reasons, if nothing else. It's like, "I hate the Arabs because the Arabs hate the Jews. But I like the Arabs because the Arabs hate America." And now I'm so confused I can hardly remember my name, or where I live!
I began thinking that when I heard his father interviewed. The interesting thing is that he was in Kirkuk, Mosul and Western Iraq without protection and refused to leave the country. When confronted with this info, his father said that "He was afraid" to go to the airport (the most protected place in the country.) It just didn't make a lot of sense, and the fact that his sister married an Arab Moslem, I suspect he was knee deep in AQ....
I don't know how credible Davis is but the swiftness of Ashcroft's denial makes me believe that Berg was involved more deeply and was probably under deep cover for something.
Berg's entire story has not made sense from Day One. You just don't go wandering around Iraq looking for new business - particularly if you are Jewish. You don't just bump into terrorists at college, much less share computer passwords with them.
The entire story is obviously bogus. I just have no clue what the truth is. All I know is I'm not buying the official story, regardless of whether it comes from Ashcroft, Berg's father or an investigative reporter.
Sad. And if this should turn out to be what they do to one of their own, I hate to think of how they'd treat anyone else.
He is not representative of all American Jews. He is part of the misguided elements of the Reformed Synagogue, which is closer to the Council of Churches than Judaism. There are many Conservative and Orthodox Synagogues that do not remotely share his views--
