Now that the Marine General engineered a "peace" in Falluja--where exactly are the murders who shot, burned and then desecrated the bodies of 4 American civilans???
Are we so weak in Iraq that we're letting them get away with such true torture and abuse--not to mention murder? To my mind this makes the hubub over our prisoner abuse pale in comparision--in reality there is no comparison.
Do our policy-makers really think Iraq will have a stable pro-western government--when whole cities have not admitted the defeat of Saddam, but rather have declared "victory" over us?
I just do not understand, I really don't.
The butchers and murderers of falluja consist of the ENTIRE town. Destroy it. Kill them. Kill them ALL.
Nor do I. I just keep hoping that we will deal with that situation at a strategic future time of our choosing.
And, not to bring up an unpleasant subject...but Saddam Hussein al-Tikriti is not dead.
I'm sure that his every waking minute is devoted to plans for his return-and you can bet he has friends hiding all throughout the "new" Iraqi government.
Maybe our Democrat Ambassador in Bagdadio arranged an "Outcome Based Consensus" using "The Delphi Principles," do ya think???
Maybe some stealth UN officials cranked up enuf courage and snuck back in there and arranged the old liberal standby of "Power Sharing," do ya s'pose???
I suppose not, but the State Department will surely work something like that out, right? (broader fiendish grin)
Your inability to grasp the nuanced leadership of our strategic pause causes many to believe you are a know-nothing Dem or Al Qaida-ist.
It is impossible for our Dear Leader to make tactical or strategic mistakes. Those cheering Islamonazis in the streets of Fallujah are fakes. Al Jazeera really isn't seen by the whole Arab world. We did win in Fallujah!
It was an example of our generocity to provide weapons and uniforms to the militia that took over. We missed the boat in WW II when we failed to equip the SS and Wehrmacht with spanking new uniforms. Think how much better they would have loved us if we had just been more PC. We were warned that the War on Terror would be unlike any we had ever seen. The doubting thomases are now starting to see the light.
What were you expecting, an "overwhelming response?"
I wondered about this from the moment I heard we were waiting for negotiations rather than sending troops into the city. It would have been lots better not to threaten the city in the first place, than to make threats and then back off. At the very least we should have demanded that the people responsible for the killing and mutilations be handed over to us.
It looks as though things are going to be done the UN way from here on out.
"The butchers and murderers of falluja consist of the ENTIRE town."
NO it doesnt.
Speaking of Fallujah, the US-appointed retired major-general, Mohammed Abdul-Latif, seems to be having a calming effect on the locals: "We can make [the US] use their rifles against us or we can make them build our country, it's your choice," he has told "a gathering of more than 40 sheikhs, city council members and imams in an eastern Fallujah suburb... As he spoke, many sheikhs nodded in approval and listened with reverence. Later, they clasped his hands and patted him on the back."
"The secret to attaining victory is to drop the standards to where defeat becomes victory."
This is a trick the enemy has learned quite well.
We go in, kill 800 of them, and they declare victory when we dont take the whole town with it and instead decide to let Iraqis patrol what remains.
alSadr has declared victory too. I forget if it was before or after we killed 100 of his guys in one day.
I have to admit, we fight wars better but they've got the leg up on lying on TV.
As he spoke, many sheikhs nodded in approval and listened with reverence. Later, they clasped his hands and patted him on the back."
At least 600 are buried in every available place in Fallujah, including the soccer field. I'd look for those killers in the graves.
