Scratch Tony Blair off the list of possible "foreign leaders" who want to see John Kerry president.
Kerry's said he had received enordorsements from foreign leaders he had personally met.
When pressed to name names, Kerry said the endorsements were confidential, and that he bumped into foreign leaders in all sorts of places, including restaurants in New York.
British Prime Minister Tony Blair released the following statement today:
Asked if the Prime Minister had ever met Senator John Kerry, the Prime Minister's Official Spokesman (PMOS) said he didn't know.
He pointed out that the Prime Minister and Mr Kerry had hoped to have a meeting during the Prime Minister's recent visit to Washington, but unfortunately Mr Kerry had been out of town on the day.

I'm fairly certain that the only leaders who want Kerry elected are avowed enemies of America.

I have a feeling that a lot of people can't remember meeting John Kerry. He just makes that little an impression on people.

"...unfortunately Mr Kerry had been out of town on the day."
Hahaha... I think that was a subtle slam, if ever I saw one...

Maybe if we ignore him, he will go away?

Veeeery interesting.
Tony Blair can't afford to be openly partisan - no matter who the next president is, Blair has to work with him. To put even as subtle a zing as this into a press release suggests that Tony may know which way the wind is blowing.

Perhaps Blair needs to be reminded that Lurch is a Vietnam Veteran....WHAT YOU DIDN'T KNOW?! :)

I think he was last spotted in the arms of a tall, lanky, Swedish blond. Though, to be honest, it could have been George Costanza.

He didn't say current foreign leaders.
To: wagglebee
I'm sure Kerry still has Kim Jong Il, Jacques Chirac, Gerhardt Schroeder, Assaad and the mullahs in Iran.

This is actually a very interesting point, and the British press reported on it a little while ago. There are links between Prime Minister Blair's Labour Party, and the Democratic Party which go back for many years (and parallel the links between the Conservative and Republican Parties); however, the co-operation has fallen away dramatically this year. Usually the Labour Party would send a delegation to the Democratic Convention with several M.P.s and other senior party officials, but this year everything has been dramatically scaled back. Despite being pretty much identical to Senator Kerry on every policy except security, 'sources' have implied that he would prefer President Bush to win (despite being at the opposite end of the spectrum from the President on everything other than security).
As a right-winger, I have very very little time for the Prime Minister, but when even he supports President Bush (albeit very quietly) then one does have to wonder what is so bad about Senator Kerry.

Blair "doesn't know" if he ever met Kerry.
LOL, what a monumental slap in the face!

I actually laughed out loud, alone here in my office at home, when I read that headline. ;-D

True, and I would count it as essential that every British P.M. of whatever political stripe work with whomever the U.S. President is, however, everything I have heard implies that this goes deeper, that Blair would rather have a continuing Bush presidency than a Kerry one. As a Kerry-Clinton-clone (forgive the alliteration), this is very surprising.
