President's Economic Policies Strengthen Job Growth in States Across the Country

Today's News: State-by-State Jobs Data

President Bush's Policies Are Improving Our Economy

President Bush has brought our economy back so it is growing again and creating new jobs. Now is not the time to change the policies that are strengthening our economic recovery.

The American economy has faced serious challenges over the last three years including a recession, terrorist attacks, corporate scandals and the uncertainty of war.

The President has acted decisively to bring us back from recession to recovery:

The following chart contains the following information for each state: 1) the net change in job numbers between March 2004 and April 2004; 2) the net change in job numbers between April 2003 and April 2004; 3) the date since which jobs started coming back; 4) the April 2004 unemployment rate in each state; 5) the change between the April 2004 unemployment rate and the March 2004 unemployment rate; and 6) the change between the April 2004 unemployment rate and the April 2003 unemployment rate.

EXAMPLE OF HOW TO USE THE FOLLOWING DATA: The April figures show that more than 2,000 jobs were created in Alabama and the unemployment rate was 5.8% -- a 0.1% decline since March 2004 and a 0.1% decline since April 2003. Since last April, 5,100 more Alabama workers are employed. Since December 2003, jobs have been coming back in Alabama - with more than 8,700 jobs created. This is encouraging news for Alabama. While there is still more to do to get Alabama's economy moving again, these new jobs show that progress is being made and Alabama is on the road to recovery.

Passed strongest corporate reforms since FDR was President.

Some would say burdensome, needless regulations. The federal government continues to commit more accounting fraud and waste more money than the private sector ever did.

LOL Yeah, too bad they're all low wage, part time, no benefit "positions."
