The class of 2004 chose Burns as its speaker in part because it wanted to avoid the politically divisive reaction of students to recent past speakers, including Bush, U.S. Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton and New York Gov. George Pataki.

Suckers.

Ken Burns knows about lying. His documentaries have been disected for historical inaccuracies.

Just another liberal documentary filmmaker with a bad haircut.

They will have to be hit where it hurts them personally.....maybe one of their ivory towers, before they wake up.

They were hit in their two tallest ivory towers. It woke them up for a few hours, but then they slipped right back into their comas.

I wonder if Mr Burns would tell us which nations supported the union in the war against the south? It seems we didn't have much "international support" then either.

Both wars [the U.S. Civil War and the War in Iraq] threatened to tear the country apart, Burns said.

This comparison is solid proof of Burns' insanity.

i don't understand how these people who hate bush process information.

one problem is that conservatives, including the white house, have failed to clearly state the facts.

for one thing: the u.s. congress passed a resolution for regime change in iraq; president clinton signed it into law.

for another thing: liberal senators of the united states and countries such as france, germany and russia had the same intelligence that president bush acted upon. liberals were in agreement with the bush administration until...election year.

Well, it's a tad difficult when the Big 3 media won't broadcast speeches that will do just that. They didn't even carry President Bush's speech about going to war in the first place.

God, forbid Americans should miss who get's booted off the island.

Mr. Burns didn't learn much from his intensive research of history. If Pres. Lincoln hadn't been sure he was right in fighting to keep the south, there wouldn't be a United States of America today.

He criticized what he called a culture of censorship and intimidation that was intolerant of others,

There's a "culture of censorship and intimidation" that is "intolerant of others," alright -- it's called the liberal media.
