"Currently, there is no strong evidence that use of cannabis of itself causes psychological or social problems,"Causes? Probably not. Triggers? Probably.
"If someone has a predisposition to a psychotic illness, such as schizophrenia, use of drugs such as cannabis may trigger the first episode in what can be a lifelong, disabling condition."

I was going to post a rebuttal to this whack job of a study, but after I read yours there was no need!So you think song lyrics are a "rebuttal"?

"There is a great deal of evidence that cannabis use is associated with these things, but this association could have several explanations," he said.Waffle time.
No, responsible science time: "factors such as adversity in early life, which may itself be associated with cannabis use and psychosocial problems." By the 'association-equals-causation' logic, my eating dinner causes the sun to set.

Pot is such a boring drug, in no time the user looks for something else.I've known many regular pot smokers, not one of whom went on to regular use of any other illegal drug.

Pot heads, unlike drunks never start a sentence with "Hey guys, watch this!" No, drunks usually phrase it this way: "Hold muh beer and watch this".

"Does Cannabis use decrease ambition and drive? Does it reduce the user's social skills? Does it correlate to missed classes or days at work, thereby contributing to lower social status and earning power?" The same could be said about television and the internet.

Maybe a visit to some RAL REAL (?)
pot heads "homes" would sober your thought processes up a little. Filthy children, filthy homes, job jobs [sic]
(min wage ofcourse[sic]
). Yeah their they're passive alright. to Too passive to even live a half way decent life. Looking for the next bag. If you're going to criticize pot smokers as losers, at least come across as halfway educated and lucid yourself.

"Pot?" Well, um, we have this and that study that shows it might possibly be bad, but um, maybe its not....we just dont have any evidence either way.....better be safe, BAN IT ...Make it ILLEGAL...crank up the Propoganda machine and War of Drugs!!!!
"Alcohol? Tobacco?" well, we do have studys and history showing both these subtances are considerably harmful in many ways, to both the user and their surroundings....well then, put more bikini-clad ladies on the commercials for these products and it will all be better....move along, nothing to see here
its stunning how hypocritical the "law of our land" can be.

"SOURCE: The Lancet, May 15, 2004." Are you truly this stupid?
The source for the article you posted is Reuters. Can you understand that simple fact?
Can you tell the difference betwen a Reuters news report and an article published in the Lancet medical journal?
Obviously not. Again, I ask this rhetorical question to make a point not insult, are you really that stupid?

"So you think song lyrics are a "rebuttal"?"
Ideas are rebuttals and the song conveys very well the ideas that refute this study. Pot saps initiative, especially among adolescents. It turns A-students into B or C-students and C-students into potential drop outs. Of course there are exceptions, but their numbers pale in comparison.
