This is a figurative example....

And an extremely poor one.

"I will not attempt to name them again here because I was not taking notes. However, major hotel chains, major media giants, and a very BIG publishing and Internet conglomerate were mentioned."

Wow! And yet, somehow not surprising.

I feel bad for this girl.

Regardless, we are our brother's keeper.

So, enlighten all of us as to the specific actions you have taken to remove young women from a life of porn? How many have you saved from this terrible fate?

You preach well, but I really don't think there is anything real behind your sermon.

that the federal government should get involved and launch a War on Pornography?

No more than the federal government should launch a War on Rape.

How on earth can someone who claims familiarity with Aquinas be so oblivious to the concept of PERSONAL RESPONSIBLITY FOR ONE'S OWN ACTIONS?

I'm familiar with the concept. Yet we are our brother's keeper. The purpose of society is to promote the common good. Turning a blind eye to vice is not charitable, it's evil. Specifically, it's a sin of omission.

Genesis 4

2 Later she gave birth to his brother Abel. Now Abel kept flocks, and Cain worked the soil.
3 In the course of time Cain brought some of the fruits of the soil as an offering to the LORD .
4 But Abel brought fat portions from some of the firstborn of his flock. The LORD looked with favor on Abel and his offering,
5 but on Cain and his offering he did not look with favor. So Cain was very angry, and his face was downcast.
6 Then the LORD said to Cain, "Why are you angry? Why is your face downcast?
7 If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must master it."
8 Now Cain said to his brother Abel, "Let's go out to the field." [4] And while they were in the field, Cain attacked his brother Abel and killed him.
9 Then the LORD said to Cain, "Where is your brother Abel?" "I don't know," he replied. "Am I my brother's keeper?"

Luke 10

30 In reply Jesus said: "A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, when he fell into the hands of robbers. They stripped him of his clothes, beat him and went away, leaving him half dead.
31 A priest happened to be going down the same road, and when he saw the man, he passed by on the other side.
32 So too, a Levite, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side.
33 But a Samaritan, as he traveled, came where the man was; and when he saw him, he took pity on him.
34 He went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he put the man on his own donkey, took him to an inn and took care of him.
35 The next day he took out two silver coins[5] and gave them to the innkeeper. 'Look after him,' he said, 'and when I return, I will reimburse you for any extra expense you may have.'
36 "Which of these three do you think was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of robbers?"
37 The expert in the law replied, "The one who had mercy on him." Jesus told him, "Go and do likewise."

It Takes A Village.

"...promote the general Welfare..."

Notice the capitalization.

The biggest surprise was that Diane Sawyer exposed the truth that: Fortune 100 Corporations own the porn industry !

I forgot that very important point.

Newscorp, which includes Fox News, unfortunately, was mentioned, along with Time/Warner and major hotel chains.

Yes, yes: women who willingly have sex for thousands of dollars as a professional activity are exactly the same as women who've been raped. I'm starting to think you're a real crackpot, sir: no offense.

the consensual conduct of peaceful citizens

Is that the way you'd describe Michelle's story? I would describe her story as a great human tragedy.

Your description is a prime example of libertarian reductionism.

Please do, and don't bother with the BellaDonnas. I Googled her just to see what she looked like, and let's just say there's a reason the end opposite her face is what made her "famous." She's at least a 12-pack.

Now we need a War on Pornography to augment the highly successful War on Drugs and the triumphant War on Poverty.

This isn't a good analogy because drug use and gambling are not intrinsically evil.

Nevertheless, pornography should be suppressed in any reasonable, possible way.

After all, if we don't act, who'll save the children?

Not you I guess.

Intrinsic evils should be criminalized. The only subject for debate are the penalties that should be applied.

If you decide that whether "intrinsic evils" (a term which cries out for definition) should be criminalized is not subject to debate, how do you expect to persuade anyone? Or are we to hear your pronouncements and rest satisfied that Authority has spoken?

The only thing I see that the feminazi movement gave to women, is the desire to be permanent victims, and place all of their problems at the fault of a man (or men).

Even modern commercials show how "smart" the woman is, while delegating any men in the ad to sub-human intelligence.

Well, that's fine...a 30/60-second commercial doesn't make it so...it just trys to persuede women to buy Tide or Dawn or something.

My take is, if these women are of such superior intelligence, why then do they continually get themselves into such situations?

As men, we tend to want to be the "protectors" and guard our families from harm however we can...but women grow up in the same world we do...they see the same news, they watch the same TV, they get told to look both ways before crossing the street...etc.

So why, then, don't they know if they sign up for sex films, that it's not "Romeo and Juliet". They're going to be sex of all kinds required by the directors, producers and perverts.

These women need show us that much-touted superior intelligence and no get themselves into situations that then turn into victimhood and an appearance on Oprah.

Ok I guess you're one of the government-in-the-bedroom types then. End of discussion.

You're ending the discussion because you don't like what you're hearing, not because you've proposed a reasonable counter-argument.
