REDWOOD CITY -- Players in People vs. Peterson have hammered out ground rules on dozens of issues leading to today's opening statements, but have not touched a potentially explosive question: What to do with the families?

Scott and Laci Peterson's relatives regularly attended most proceedings up until jury selection. But many could be called as witnesses and, as such, normally would be excluded from the double-murder trial........

This morning, at precisely the same time, one capital murder trial ends while another begins at the Redwood City courthouse.

Scott Peterson, accused of killing his wife Laci, and confessed murderer Seti Scanlan have little in common aside from being two death penalty defendants in the same county, in courtrooms down the hall from each other. But, depending on the juries’ ultimate decisions, both could also end up together on San Quentin’s death row.

Opening statements begin at 9 a.m. in Peterson’s trial, thought to be the state’s most publicized case since the O.J. Simpson murder trial..........

It was Lee who said Scott was sturgeon fishing. According to the modbee article.

Beth just said on CTV that Scott was on the phone to Amber all during a family vacation with the Rochas in December.

He had 12 phone calls on the 24th. The majority were outgoing.

Only three boats had been launched from the Marina. It was bad fishing weather/conditions.

There were 12 places to fish closer to Modesto than SF Bay.

imo Scott doesn't dare go on the stand. Who besides his parents would be willing to lie for him?

I heard some of what Beth Karas said, too.

She said only 3 boats were launched from the Berkeley Marina between 12/23 and 12/27.

She said (as you pointed out) that Scott was on the phone with Amber a lot during that trip to Carmel that he and Laci made with Scott's parents, in December, I think.

Oh--I also heard Beth Karas say that Scott's and Amber's first date was Nov. 20, and they stayed at a Radisson Hotel, I think in Fresno.

At that time, Scott told Amber he was going to get a vasectomy b/c he didn't ever want children. He did, supposedly, make an exception for her 2-yr-old. Funny that he was talking about such things the very first time they were together. But it might have been a "sales" tactic to get her to think he was "caring" about permanence and family matters, so she'd be sure and sleep with him. He wouldn't want her to think he was just another aging Lothario!

Poor Girl.. What do you think Scott's defense will be for this one? Probably something like: Well she went against Dr's orders because she was sick and dizzy..

Great point for prosec. Laci wouldn't have put her baby at risk to go out for a walk. Dan Abrahms also says that prosecution is going with a financial motive as primary (which we've discussed here many times). The obsession with Amber was/is a symptom.

I have a busy day it is KV's shower day so I will be back.

Since we have been home bound I cleaned out every drawer and dumped everything that did not belong to him.

He has been on me not to touch any of his stuff even if it is a receipt it may mean something. So I have packed all his "junk" into labled boxes.

I found a bracellet the hippie tie die cloth ones that he got at a health fair years ago that says 100% Cigeratte Smoke Free and put it on before deciding where to stow it and came in to do a shift with his care and he got all wild with his eye gaze and augmentative language saying "hey hey that is my bracelet" Geeeze he has been really wierded out about my cleaning mode. I wonder if it is the steroids in his breathing treatments making him so "bitchy".

Anyways his medical supply room use to be so crowded I re did it. Didn't know one could sweat behind the knees.

What does this new tidbit mean, I wonder?

Scott had that launch parking ticket. Does that mean he was one of the three, and that it was simply again unusual to go out on a boat in the bay there at that time of year? (For sturgeon...) (In a tiny boat...)

Or does it mean that he was not one of the three and simply got the parking ticket w/o launching? But we know he launched somewhere.
