His opening words lost me - typical of a jackass like the jackasses guarding(?) the iraqi prisoners

These are Real pilots - not that airfarce jackass.

Speaking of jackasses (and CH-46's) - did anyone hear that stupid reporter on FOX that was running down the saudi commando unit (correctly) because they were flying the "ancient run-down" CH-46 hellicoters for their assault??

He stated that the saudis were taking the anti-terrorist force seriously enough because they were made to use such antiquated euipment.

Gee- it sounds like the Marines!
We the unwilling
Led by the unknowing
Are doing the impossible
For the ungrateful
We have done so much for so long with so little
We are now qualified to do anything with nothing

I loved the JATO night takeoffs or a JATO pallet drop.

Until we stretched the runway at Dong Ha out for them, JATO's were quite common.

Hilarious ! Thanks.

When we were stationed in The Azores, Portugal, my Dad worked with a Sergeant Wills in "Crash Control" on the flight line. (Air Force). The Fire Department that was responsible for being ready for any planes that may be coming in with trouble.

Anyway, Sergeant Wills had two sons. One was a Sophomore the year I was a Senior and the other was in the 6th or 7th grade. The sons ended up as Officers in the Air Force as well. One flies C-130's and the other flies a fighter plane, F-16's I think. One is a base commander here in the States now, too.
