Porn-surfing bank supremo Michael Soden was caught with his browser down last week by the very same staff he outsourced to HP at the start of his reign at the Bank of Ireland.

Soden hit the headlines last year in Ireland when staff took industrial action in protest of the department's shift to Hewlett Packard. Staff were unhappy about the prospect of becoming HP employees, as they had enjoyed considerable perks at the Bank of Ireland: favourable mortgage and loan deals for instance. Now it seems that he has been forced to resign thanks to the very department which he sent merrily on its way.

Staff informed the bank that they had discovered pornography on Soden's machine on Wednesday last week, during routine maintenance. Soden resigned his post on Saturday, after the internal investigation into the discovery was leaked to the local press.

It would be disingenuous to suggest that the "routine maintenance" was anything other than that, but it's clear that Soden's machine was thoroughly attended to.

The outsourcing move was Soden's second high-profile decision after his appointment as chief executive. His first was to update the acceptable use policy that prohibits staff from accessing porn using company equipment. ®

Since free traitors don't permit any sense of ethics to inform their decisions, they'll probably commit some other crimes along the way. There is no reason to protect them from the consequences of their criminal acts. Don't delay, report them today!

Trade isn't deplorable, it's the method by which we all improve our standard of living. It'd be interesting for you to live a single month absent the advantages afforded you by trade, just so you could see if it's what you really want.

I'm not IT anymore, but having done it in a past life gives me a little in with the IT department here. They know I know how hard they bust ass in an utterly thankless job, and I make sure they know I appreciate them doing it so I don't have to.

And when they're passing out nice fast PCs and huge new monitors, strict seniority isn't always observed. It pays to be nice. :)

A critical distinction exists between "free trade" and "fair trade". If your statement refers to fair trade, then we are in agreement.

Free trade, along with the tax subsidized offshoring of American jobs, is a different matter. Free trade makes China stronger, and makes America weaker.

HP is not an US company, anymore then GE, Ford, Gm, or any of a hundred others. They all are multinational whores with no loyalty to any nation or people. Therhave no loyalty efore they for me. I believe that sums it up nicely.
