WorldNetDaily is not a government-sanctioned entity trying to produce a theocracy. Nor are they a private group producing a theocracy. Like most conservatives, they want to return to the values that got this nation going in the first place.
You'd think that, by now, people would know to not take a fantastical story at face value, and would put a little research into it before sounding off. This particular episode is the result of one particular power-mad "ministry" out distorting facts.
See Snopes http://www.snopes.com/religion/islam.htm
"Assist Ministries is addressing the wrong issue: This controversy shouldn't be about Islam vs. Christianity or "our religion" vs. "their religion," but rather about the appropriateness of any religious teachings in public schools. Their hand-wringing over the evils of Islam, dark hints about conspiracies among politicians and profiteers to appease oil-rich Arabs, and presentation of Christianity as the one true religion miss the point."
And from http://www.truthorfiction.com/rumors/b/byronislam.htm:
"Islam has been an important part of history, and therefore an important part of studying history for a long time and is a part of the state guidelines for seventh graders just as teaching about Christianity is a part of the educational guidelines for 6th graders. That is the reason, according to Turpin, why the textbook "Across the Centuries" deals with Islam more than Christianity. It's a seventh grade text and that is the grade when Islam is studied."
Yeah, kind of like Alabama were the Ten Commandments could't be displayed.
Please, be my guest. And take as many friends and family with you.
You may want to try Alabama! Hehehe.....

Movers Haul Away Ten Commandments
MONTGOMERY, ALABAMA. A chorus of demonstrators joined an irate man in screaming, "Put it back!" Wednesday after a monument of the Ten Commandments (search) was wheeled away from the rotunda of the Alabama Judicial Building.
This was an issue last year - is it still current, or is this an urban legend that is reappearing?
Or laughing out loud...
I wouldn't put money on that. So's CFR, yet the Soooopremes liked it.
Only after showing the kiddies how to perform a female circumcision!
Argh ping!
Another loud mouth that fails to see this crap is happening every where, right under their noses even. So I guess compared to Alabama, California is Holy Land. LOL!

"The school is not teaching about Islam, it is requiring children to PRACTICE Islam and recite its teaching."
That's a fine line they are walking :-) So if the parents insist on all aspects of Islam be practiced and recited, then the truth about Islam is revealed, but the school is not teaching, right? Bottom line, the parents can turn this on the PC crowd by insisting on accuracy.
Byron is located in the Sacramento River delta area, just outside the Bay Area.
This is an old article. Have things changed since it was published?
I don't know which Freeper posted it first, but it's still the BEST single quote about Islam.
" Everything I need to know about Islam I learned on 9-11."
Amen. Add, everything thing I need to know about arab men I learned from the taliban and then some. BURN BURQUAS!
Got a working link?
That's about as perfect a temporary insanity defense as I've ever heard.
The girls shouldn't even be in class!
