LONDON Paul McCartney says he got no thrill from heroin, but found cocaine more to his liking for a time.
"I tried heroin just the once," McCartney said in interview published Wednesday in the Daily Mirror newspaper about his drug use in decades past. (snip)
"A song like 'Got to Get You Into My Life,' that's directly about pot, although everyone missed it at the time," McCartney said.
"'Day Tripper,' that's one about acid (LSD). 'Lucy in the Sky,' that's pretty obvious. There's others that make subtle hints about drugs, but, you know, it's easy to overestimate the influence of drugs on the Beatles' music."

You didn't run, you didn't hide You know i wanted just to hold you And had you gone, you knew in time We'd meet again for I had told you Ooo, you were meant to be near me Ooo, and I want you to hear me Say we'll be together every day Got to get you into my life
What can I do, what can I be When I'm with you I want to stay there If I'm true I'll never leave And if I do I know the way there Ooo, then I suddenly see you Ooo, did I tell you I need you Every single day of my life Got to get you into my life
I never would have guessed this in a million years!
I'm SHOCKED! SHOCKED, I tell you!
Im shocked!
No! You don't say!
If so, it's an obvious ode to drug dependency.
No!!!!! I am stunned!!! McCartney has been arrested more times than Klinton for drug use.
And this is surprising considering that John Lennon and Yoko Ono stayed in a drug stupor for days?
Geez, next thing you know it'll come out that Hendrix dropped acid.
Cole Porter got no kick from cocaine.
I wonder...Did he take the hard stuff during the early Beatle years, or when he wrote "Silly Love Songs"?
WHAT? That's it, I am destroying the LP's and CD's. Unbelievable!
HOLY SHI*!!!!
Next they will tell us is John Lennon was Communist.
Golly gee whillikers!
Pure alcohol didn't thrill him at all either.
Oh dear!
~~sniffle~~
Guess I need to take my "I love Paul" poster down now.
I'm deeply saddened...
Not since i heard about the AIDS scare in the porn industry have i been so shocked by a news item

What about the German strippers? I DEMAND more information about the German strippers.
Dude, they like stayed that way for a decade.
Bill Clinton lied!!
LOL
Ok, fine. I'm destroying the Hendrix albums and CD's too. Next, I guess you will tell me that Jim Morrison was smashed too, right?
Sheeesh.
I think his drug use must have hit its peak around the time "Ebony and Ivory" was recorded.
I am SHOCKED by this news...........Do you have reliable sources???
I am SHOCKED by this news...........Do you have reliable sources???
Bump
In other news, a stunning revelation - John Kerry served in Vietnam.
Wait Wait. The "Daily Mirror".???
Thats a that Commie rag thatproduced those faked British "abuse" photos. They also Khmer Rouge lover and proven liar/perpetual libel lawsuit defendent John "Red" Pilger.
You don't say! Next thing you'll tell me is that John Kerry was in Viet Nam!
PS I Love You!
NO!
Oops. I forgot the (/sarcasm) disclaimer in the title.

"Ward, you were a little rough on the Beaver last night."
Well that certainly clears a few things up. If I remember right John Lennon considered that to be their best song.
She's not a girl who misses much
Do do do do do do
oh, yeah ...
She's well acquainted with
the touch of the velvet hand
Like a lizard on a window pain.
The man in the crowd with the
multicolored mirror on his hobnail boots;
Lying with his eyes while his
hands are busy working overtime.
A soap impression of his wife which
he ate and donated to the National Trust.
I need a fix cause I'm going down
Down to the bits that I left uptown
I need a fix cause I'm going down
Mother Superior jump the gun
Mother Superior jump the gun
Mother Superior jump the gun
Mother Superior jump the gun
Mother Superior jump the gun
Mother Superior jump the gun
Happiness is a warm gun
Happiness is a warm gun mama.
When I hold you in my arms
and I feel my finger on you trigger
I know nobody can do no harm.
Because Happiness is a warm gun mama
Happiness is a warm, yes it is, gun
I don't believe it? Strawberry fields?
I remember hearing a Lennon interview in which he denied Lucy in the Sky had anything to do with LSD. He said it was a song about a picture his son had drawn.
BWWWAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHA!! Beauty, CD!
No mention of how series or how hugh this discovery is yet?
Thankyew, thankyewverymuch!
ha ha ha!! You don`t say?? Maybe someone should ask Kerry just to make sure!
well he just popped my happy beatle balloon..
</sarcasm>
He's a Beatle's fan.
"Silly Love Songs"
"Let 'Em In"
"Coming Up"
"Say, Say, Say"
I think he peak before then.
I thought the White Album was the Beatles' way of saying "we can put any crap out there on record and not even put a name or face on the cover and you lemmings will still buy it like it was the last ice cube in the desert."
By the mid-70s, Paul knew he could just put any loopy jingle out there and sell millions so why really work on it? Was it drugs or the realization that McCartney lacked for nothing that produced such drek? Sad thing is, I'd rather hear that than 90% of the garbage coming from today's pop music scene.
