I know precisely one Sewanee grad. Ther son of an oil company executive, he graduated in the early 70s and then worked for an NGO in Africa. He was pretty much a hard-line Marxist in the 70s who reinvented himself as an environmentalist in the 80s. He's embarrassed about being an American, embarrassed about being from the south, embarrassed about being from a successful family.
