... in a light drizzle in expansive Forsyth Park...

So the weather wasn't nice? I think that's the problem right there.

Over the last few years, I've noticed that America's consciousness only seems to need raising when it's sunny. During the winter, the US is pretty much OK. Then during the first days of nice spring weather, America is suddenly run by white, racist, homophobic, capitalistic, necon fascists, and it's imperative that people flood out into parks across the country to raise our awareness. All summer, America is a veritable concentration camp, with sunscreen-slathered protesters bravely standing up to The Man. In the early autumn, as the nice weather wanes, there's usually one more burst of high-minded civil disobedience. Then the winter cold sets in, and suddenly America doesn't seem to need its consciousness raised any more.

Ever notice that?

At least they're getting the group affiliation right now, they are ANARCHISTS.

I HAVE NO IDEA

What's strange is that we have a pretty liberal art college downtown as well. They must have all gone home for the summer - but I'm glad to see that nobody cares about these people. This past spring some grafitti was popping up around downtown, and a few times it was sprayed on my daughter's private school - Catholic - which is adjacent to a cathedral. F*** Bush. Lovely.

The background of the photo you posted is a billboard by Lamar Outdoor Advertising, at the foot of the F. J. Torras causeway leading to Saint Simons Island, my birthplace.

I've covered this event here:

On the last day of G-8, they finally figured out that the foot of the causeway was where they would get the most attention, so that's where they are. Complete with a sign depicting President Bush as a capering Chimp. How original...

They always hide their faces. They must know their politics are shameful. It seems they try to seek a bit of the anonymity they enjoy on the internet and don't have to worry about personally standing behind their ideas. This, in addition to keeping their identities covered in case they decide to riot.

It boils down to being cowards.

...Two unidentified anarchists...

Odd label. I thought anti-globalist people were "nationalist": people who favor their own country above all others.

It puzzles me that these people cover their faces. Patriots would be willing to "take the heat".

Globalism isn't good for our Nation. It is the concept that tears down national borders (US/Mexico), undermines the manufacturing/workforce (outsourcing), and promotes destruction of local ecosystems (kudzu, tree parasites, etc.) It really will result in total loss of sovereignty of the US in the future. That is the plan.

I think it is pathetic that "conservatives" in this country don't really seem to conserving anything. Before you get all "flamey", I would tell you that I am really conservative, not pseudo-conservative like most posters on this site.

It really is interesting this group of young protestors (less than 100, in their coordinated black outfits, flowers, new style hair dos, obviously well fed, taken care of, their shoe laces even tied properly

Whose children are these? Who sent them? What is their motivation to be there in that spot?
