Dead Syrians sent home about a week after the accident.
While the train explosion at Ryongchon station, N. Pyongan Province, N. Korea, on 22nd of last April, still generates many speculations on its possible causes, including a failed assassination of Kim Jong-il, a freak accident, a staged accident by N. Koreans, it is now confirmed that there were many Syrians among the casualties of the explosion.
According to a knowledgeable intelligence source on N. Korean matters, about a week after the accident, on May 1st, a plane transported back to Syria 10 dead bodies of Syrians killed at the Ryongchon explosion.
The source stated that the plane came to bring the relief supply from Syria and returned with the bodies. The bodies were claimed by Syrian Technical Research Center(Centre d'Etudes et de Recherche Scientific: CERS). CERS is known to be into the development of Syrian WMD's.
It went on to say that Syrians were wearing protective suits at the time of the accident and in the middle of transporting a large packaged equipments. At the explosion, a lot of N. Korean Scud-D missiles and (rocket) propellant went off.
Another N. Korean expert, who wants to remain anonymous, explained that Syrians were there because:
As more details like these on N. Korean trafficking of WMD's emerge, what this revelation will lead to is a matter of great interest because American government is expected to take extraordinary measures on N. Korea in a few months.
The Syrian connection to Ryongchon explosion was briefly reported by Sankei Shimbun of Japan on May 7th. It was never covered in (major) domestic media, though. Syria is designated along with N. Korea as a state sponsor of terrorism, and has been a trafficker of world's WMD's and terrorist equipments.

However, this new report does not clarify whether this was just an accident or the assassination attempt or the sabotage of missile cargos.
I guess that neither assassination theory nor the sabotage could be ruled out at this time.
Ping!
It couldn't have happened to a nicer group of people.
Ping!
You have to wonder if the CIA maybe had a hand in the explosion.
VERY Interesting!
To me it rules out the assassination attempt. But, it rules "in" the possiblity that Iran knew (knows) what happened.
Iran and Syria are very close, and cooperating on weapons projects with N. Korea.
Sounds like an accident of some sort, though.
PonG
Well, we were distracted by the earth-shaking news that a few guys in Iraq were forced to wear womens underwear on their head for a couple hours one day a year ago. We have no time for this silly business about the North Koreans trading WMD to Syria.
Was this train headed into N. Korea or out?
gee and who was it that was selling nuclear secrets to what, North Korea, Iran and Syria? ... oh yeah, Dr. Khan ... (I think that list of countries is correct, if not somebody please post)
Neither, was heading toward a port.
With all our carrier groups going to sea I believe there is much going on behind the scenes.Debka reported that the US gave Syria a very stern warning this week, not reported in the MSM. GPS systems on our east coast will not be working next week. Multi national troops will be training in NC next week. Many signs pointing to something big about to happen. And let's not forget pulling our troops off the DMZ,being replaced by ROK's.
that would give us reason to cheer for a change. when the people talk about our intellegence agencies, too much happens in secret for the unwashed (that's me)to KNOW the truth to be certain they are effective.
They know the situation there is becoming dire and will need action.
Pray for our military and our president.
I doubt very serously that these missiles were actually going to a end-customer in Syria. The real customer would likely have been Iran, and these missiles would have flipped through various ports before arriving in Tehran. Syria doesn't have a need for items like this and would be wasting their money. This was a money-laundering deal where the Syrians would be the middle-men.

Of course we'll proably never know, but I hope the CIA had a hand in this "accident".
IF they did: BRAVO ZULU! Keep up the good work!
What I wonder about is how they were going to make the trip from NK to Syria. Presumably via ship, but possibly by air? I hope to god we're watching every freaking thing that makes the trip from NK to Syria or from Syria to NK.
I guess we should be glad that this NK town got flattened then. Kudos to SOC or whoever did it.
I didn't hear jack about North Korea train disaster they kinda cover up
Syrians at train site accident
WHOA
That first time I hear it
Hummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...
Yeah, whatever. Not a shred of evidence to back up any of this. Taken with a pinch of salt about the size of Alaska.
I got question for all North Korea Freepers watcher
Where is Kim Jong 11
Where is that Reject China Com dude
I haven't hear jack about him since explosion
Where is that dude been hiding
Is he hiding at Live Journal.com community
The article stated it was about cooperating with military training.
You make a lot of unspoken assumptions when you define what Syria "needs." I can think of a number of reasons why Bashar Assad "needs" weapons like this, up to and including it being a "dick thing."
But of course, the real reason Syria "needs" such weapons is, of course, Israel (as usual).
Thanks.
Well there is evidence that something blowed up real good, haven't you seen the pictures or have you not been following this story?
Highly unlikely.

...maybe a planned operation by somebody's special operations team ?
Was official warning to boaters not to rely on GPS or cell phones, should only rely on VHF, off the carolina and florida coast.
Kim was photographed meeting with the Japanese p.m. a few weeks after the train explosion, so he is alive and well, sadly.
If it were really going to happen, it would would be for the G-8 summit. However, GPS has far too many civil uses (e.g., cell phones, FAA applications, and the stock market all use GPS-derived time). They're not going to take it down.
There's a joint exercise with some Russians & their military equipment on our terra firma down in the North Carolina shoreline area...and we have 10 carriers now out at sea though the media is only reporting 7.
Protective suits huh??
That would be local jamming-type stuff, then. They wouldn't be messing with the satellites.
OH OKAY Never minddd
I wonder what happen to that dude I know he been hanging out at Live Journal.com community he tick off everybody over there LOL!
This was reported here on FR a few weeks ago. The train collision occured in a warehouse at the end of a spur.
Guess I gotta go find it for you.BRB
I would sure like to think the CIA had the capability to do such a job.
But I don't.
Maybe the Israelis?
that would give us reason to cheer for a change. when the people talk about our intellegence agencies, too much happens in secret for the unwashed (that's me)to KNOW the truth to be certain they are effective
I'm not a betting man...but if I was, I'd bet that our intelligence agencies are VERY effective.
IF they did: BRAVO ZULU! Keep up the good work!
ditto
Here are good pictures http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/world/dprk/ryongchon-imagery.htm from the area

This isn't a "GPS thing," it's a local disruption due to other stuff.
No need -- I found it for you. They're not "taking down GPS."
This may be the most interesting/new part of this article.
