A settlement has been reached in a class action lawsuit over McAfee VirusScan versions 3 and 4. If you are a U.S. resident and you bought a retail version of McAfee VirusScan version 3 or version 4, then you are a member of the class.

As a member of the class, you may receive a free download version of your choice of one of the three McAfee perpetual products: (1) VirusScan version 8, (2) AntiSpyware version 1.0, or (3) QuickClean version 4.01 (collectively "Software").

In order to receive your free Software download, you must do the following:

Complete the certification form at http://software.mcafee.com/lcas/ Then select Submit. Once you have agreed to the class certification requirements, McAfee will send you an email with a link to download your free software. NOTE: ALL RIGHTS WILL EXPIRE ON JULY 16, 2004. YOU MUST COMPLETE THE CLASS CERTIFICATION FORM AND DOWNLOAD THE SOFTWARE ON OR BEFORE JULY 16, 2004, OR YOU WILL LOSE YOUR RIGHT TO RECEIVE THE SOFTWARE.

For further information about the class action settlement please see the following items:

It is surprising that this 'free offer' -:cough:- errmmm lawsuit settlement' -:cough:- has not received more 'free' publicity... but then again I guess you don't want the world to know you are having to give your product away for free... so sshhhhhhhhhh..... don't tell anyone about this... it's a secret... hehehehe... ;) Don't forget that you are limited to just 1 free software download per household and Network Associates offer is limited to residents of the United States only (-:cough:- or at least people claiming to be from the United States -:cough:- ). -----

Saw this posted and thought this might be of interest.

Of course, the software is of little lasting value without PAYING for the update subscription. Yet another class action lawsuit that enriches a few plantiffs and their lawyers. I wonder if it is too late to protest the settlement, question the lack of (or obscurity of) notice, etc.

That link should be a textbook example of How Not to Design a Web Site.

Or anyone can just go here: http://www.grisoft.com/us/us_dwnl_free.php
and get AVG. The best AV software you could want. Updates are free also. I threw away my Norton and McAfee 3 years ago. AVG caught/stopped virii those two did not.

Twice now I have used just the AVG rescue disk to clean computers that had either Norton or McAfee and still got a virus.

I have no affiliation, except as a user. It works.

Actually, if you look close enough you can see 1FCK on their shorts.... rofl.. Euro starts Saturday and I still can not decide if I buy the whole package for $179 or only the individual games... Wish a bar close to me would show all those games...

During the last Euro tournament I lived in Vermont on top of a Hill. I had all kinds of sat dishes. C-Band, Ku, and even had an old primestar dish that I had put an actuator o (so that I could move it through the satellite arc) connected to an MPEG FTA digital receiver .

I could pick off the Euro tournament feeds going back to Mexico with it. They weren't scrambled, they were just feeding the backhauls on some little used bird over the Atlantic. It was awesome. I watched any game I wanted to.

For Germany's games (which weren't too many that year), I would use another dish to pick up the Deutsche Welle audio feed.

I'm in the Maine woods now, though. No such shenanigans this year.

Oh, BTW, in Kaiserslautern people are still holding out hope that Babbel will be coming. We don't have all the old Bayern players, either, just the good ones 8-}
