*snip*
Honorary pallbearer Merv Griffin told friends that on the ride from the funeral home Monday to the Ronald Reagan Library in California, Mrs. Reagan told him she was moved and surprised by the public outpouring. Traffic in the opposite direction stopped, and people jumped from their cars to wave at the motorcade. "I thought they forgot Ronnie," she said, "because nobody had seen him for 10 years."

No way we could forget, no way at all...

I hope she is by now well-aware of the love we all felt for President Reagan -- both in and out of the limelight. God bless her.

OMG, the poor woman! Her life was so focused upon her caretaking of her husband that she didn't know how much we cared or how often we thought of him? His was a consuming disease, for both the patient and their families. I hope the outpouring lifts her up through this.

You are right on. I thought about him often and marveled at her strength. Such an awful disease she and the family had to deal with. I can't imagine caring for a person who was the light of my life and having him not know who I am.
Such amazing strength!

It's strange. I hadn't thought about him in several months, but the day before his death was announced I was consumed with thoughts of him and how he was doing.

As she just now approached the aircraft it appeared that her legs were just about to give out. And it tore my heart out again. She is a much stronger woman than the media ever lead us to believe.

This picture capsulizes what Brit Hume said: Ronny worried about nothing and Nancy worried about everything!

Foget... never!!!!!
My 25 year old son is recording the entire event. He calls Reagan, "His President!" I hope Mrs. Reagan realizes the impact of her husband on genrations. AND, her impact even, no especially, now!! My children remember this exemplary President. That speaks volumes!!!!!!!!

Has anyone heard how she is? This was her first week without him. Just think of all the calls she's had to take...probably no time to herself, probably tons of requests for her to do this or that...Bless her, and strengthen her, and give her Your wisdom, Lord, and let her feel Your arms around her!
